The two hour Notoriety restriction is stupid!

While doing community goal bounty missions, I shot accidentally a clean ship due to the cluttered radar, and got 1 notoriety status.

I have to wait now for two hours logged in doing nothing until notoriety status is gone?! Seriously?! Two hours of real time banned due to a mistake!

There shouldn’t be any police ships in the Hazardous sites to scan you, so unless a bounty Hunter follows you in from supercruise you’ll be alright there as well.

Same for conflict zones. All ships in a warzone are lawless, so you can totally smoke the bounty hunters with no repercussions.

Just note, notoriety isn't fit shooting the ship, it's for destroying it. You may not have landed the killing blow, but you were a contributor, so if npcs proceed to destroy it, it'll count as you killing the ship

Dare I say there should be an on/off for this type of nonsense so people who want to can avoid it entirely...I know that horse is beat to death.

Truth is, the whole C&P system is upside down and messed up. I did a much longer post about this elsewhere, but the current system:
  • Is very punishing for "accidental criminals" who are unprepared for the consequence of crime; and
  • Is of no consequence for a career criminal; Any consequence is easily evaded for anyone prepared and knowingly entering into crime

In other words, "that nonsense" is incredibly easy to avoid, if you know what you're doing and have a plan, and an absolute embuggerance if you aren't. Instead, it should be set up in a way such that;
  • It's trivial for a commander who inadvertently stumbles onto committing crime to clear things up; and
  • Encourages criminally-minded commanders to embrace the consequences of their crime, not avoid them; additional rewards should happen when undertaking activities that put you in harms way when you have notoriety/a bounty, and paying off your bounty/clearing your notoriety should be severely damaging to that pursuit.
