Guardian artifacts...

Ok, please correct me if I'm wrong cause this new CG sounds like one I totally, absolutely hate the idea of participating in...

From what I understand the task at hand is to take a ship with lots of cargo space, land near a guardian structure, take the SRV and:
  • drive out to pick up two artifacts
  • drive up to ship, transfer cargo
  • rinse repeat for knows how long, possibly relogging once a while

Doing CZs one after another in Mudhrid got boring quickly, but at least there's some challenge (e.g. Captains, Correspondents, SpecOps, not getting killed).
Cleansing HazRes over and over again in Harma got boring quickly, but at least there's some challenge (e.g. finding the baddies that can be anywhere within 20km from the center, not accidentally killing ships from your pledged superpower, controlling your fire enough not to off the 20 ships gathering around you to scan you).
I haven't done any of the hauling CGs, but I expect they're at least marginally interesting due to possible interdictions and sourcing the goods for a decent price.
... but this sounds like an absolute PITA with the proposed "pick two, return, repeat" gameplay...

Is there something I don't know about collecting Guardian artifacts or is this CG really about rounding'em up in pairs?

EDIT. just for the record, the question posed in the OP was concluded here:

So tell me, when a CG says "collect the item X, Y, and Z and deliver to station A" - what do you do? go to a station, buy the item and deliver, in a bulk I hope.

I don't understand your problem with CGs. It's not mandatory, no one is forcing you and infact it was one of the CGs that I actually bothered myself travelling to the Guardian ruins to pick up some items.

Again, if you don't like it, don't do it. That's the beauty of Elite Dangerous. You can do whatever you want. You speak like you've been forced to do it... why is that?

There's a lot of things in this game that can be done in a smarter way (Jameson's crash site relog and crosstrade for data mats, bio signals for raw mats, restart on high grade for manufactured mats, Vela Dark Region KR-W C1-24 for obelisks and so on).
I find this amazing about ED but it also gives me a valid reason to expect that this perhaps is one of those cases as well.
And so I'm just asking if there's something about this CG that I'm missing, justifying my expectation by how annoying and dull the task seems to be.

The way you got upset is both unwaranted and amusing.
You do realize that this CG has the very high chance of hyperdiction by Thargoids, right?
This sounds like the excitement factor I expected.
Thanks!

Funny :) I find your post amusing and pathetic, you find mine amusing just as well o7

See you in the dark boys

In a small ship you can scoop artefacts up from the ground. It's quicker than using SRV, but you can't get the relics. I land for those afterwards.

But yes, this CG is not going to be to everyone's taste. I think that's OK; variety is good.

Thargoids are in Pleiades which is "south" of the bubble if you imagine the center of the galaxy being north of the bubble;
Thargoids are in Witchhead Nebula which is "south-east" of the bubble
Thargoids are in the Musca Dark Region which is "north-east" of the bubble

Guardians are "east" of the bubble

You will never find Thargoids going back and forth

I was not referring to the bubble or the Guardian sites, I was referring to Delphi, where you go to drop them off at the megaship.
Ah, I see what you mean. Still the way from Guardians to Delphi, there are only few specific systems where you MAY be interdicted. I'm pretty sure almost no one will be interdicted :p

You have to drop off the cargo at Delphi.

Delphi is in Pleiades Sector, or has it moved?

The threat of interdiction (or hyperdiction) at least makes it somewhat interesting.

I expected the main reason you're finding it pathetic is because you jump to conclusions.
In case of my post, it was jumping to the conclusion that I'm a whiny kid, crying about an unsatisfactory CG.
That's not what my question was about. It was about "hm, this sounds more boring than usual, is there something I'm missing?" and it turned out that it's the Thargoid threat on the way that makes it interesting. My expectation confirmed.

Another example of your jumping to conclusions and taking 3 posts to understand:
You do realize that this CG has the very high chance of hyperdiction by Thargoids, right?
Not really no...
Wrong.
Thargoids are not in-between bubble and Guardians

I actually believe @Wardefined in this case - I entered Thargoid-infested space twice to date and I got hyperdicted both times, so despite your being "pretty sure almost no one will be interdicted", I have reasons to believe that I will. Thargoids seem to have a boner for me.

I've never been out to Deilphi before, but just took a run out in my bubble bus to see what's what (No cargo onboard) and I got interdicted by Goids twice . . . . So you might be a bit off in your prediction :ROFLMAO:

From what I have read, you have a 20% chance of being hyperdicted while in Thargoid areas (Pleiades, Witchead, etc).

If they scan you with Guardian cargo, things get interesting.

Were you carrying Guardian cargo at the time?
Do you have a reason to believe this won't work if you have guardian cargo? Sounds to me like it should, if you boost on FA-off before you're shut down, you should be able to drift quite a distance away from the goid. Won't it help escape?
