Hello folks, I was wondering if anyone ever floated the suggestion to start expanding the inhabited universe. Don't know if there already is a mechanic that allows for slow expansion to new systems by building new starports as such.
Something along these lines: Let player factions generate revenue for squadrons from controlled stations and stations with a presence (proportioned), to spend on building things, be it ships and modules to be used or sold, or to contribute money to community goals aimed at exploring new possibilities to expand, and to build outposts in new systems, expand existing ones (more pads, larger pads and such), initiatives to find habitable planets for colonization (and to walk around cities Odyssey-style).
Am I being ridiculous?
