In the News,

It looks like the technical requirements may be met by Novavax soon, but their manufacturing hurdles are still a worry. If you took the gamble and invested on a 33 year old company without a single product, you made good money this year!
It's a cold glass of water as a reminder how hard it is to make a good version of these things. They certainly deserve this chance to contribute something more than technical capability.

Is there a Precedents for this?

Is there a job, outside travel, the military etc., where a job, requires a vaccine first?

Germany, Measles .

Chuck the page into google translate . BGM is Ministry of Health .

Sure that’s why we need to end this, let’s do it by force, I mean it’s only for our protection, drag them out force vaccinate everyone, if they don’t do it willingly, use the bertons! I’m all for it, let’s do this! Oh maybe there will be a small pushback then we use the military that’s what they are there for right?

Compulsory medication for people who are both unwilling and considered dangerous to wider society is something that's routinely done right across the world 🤷‍♀️.
Not the same: PPE, is already enshrined in law. H.S.A laws, required job based PPE must be trained and explained at induction and training to be up-dated, as required. Any Job. Don't wear designated PPE, equals, gross misconduct. If you have been signed off as trained in the use of PPE, you have no defence, against dismissal.

Someone standing at the clocking in machine, asking if you have had a needle stuck in you, and you then refusing to roll your sleeve up, is a long court case. Which can go, either way.

It will probably, be a part of new employment contracts. Again: Those that genuinely can't have the jab, will become, collateral damage.
It's come up a lot recently on the radio 4 legal hour, the PPE caselaw is the one they are looking at for implementation along with the military who already do compulsory vaccination. The reason they are looking at it is serious concern that exposing the public to healthcare workers who routinely come into contact with covid and have refused the vaccine is an unnecessary and potentially lethal risk for the public. It's also problematic from the perspective of people refusing to work with them or use equipment handled by them. Putting them in non-patient facing roles was also mentioned. Going forward including it on the application form is a certainty. The other stuff wait and see, if it costs a hospital a few million in compo things will start changing.

People who can't have the jab for genuine medical reasons rather than some twaddle off Facebook have always been exempt both from the perspective of vaccine passports and any sanction for vaccine refusal. The only situation where they can be collateral damage is exposure to mask/vaccine deniers. They are the reason vaccine uptake is important to minimise their exposure. Every time this stuff is discussed that's mentioned. However it's become one of the anti-vax scare stories so people don't notice that it's always explained that they are exempt.

No, it is a giant cotton bud, going up the noes and some mums, say that their little darling, doesn't like it.
They are children, I understand that they can be embarrassed.

Concerning the PCR tests for the adults it is less understandable if people are too delicate.

I remember my visit to an ENT doctor for a routine check-up.

It introduces a 30 cm hose with miniature camera into my nostrils, goes through the nasal cavity and goes down to the level of hypopharynx, I suppose ...

A giant PCR test :D

In front of the vaccinodromes, the long queues made way for a few scattered candidates for vaccination. More than 280,000 slots appear to be currently available in the various vaccination centres in France.

In pharmacies, too, clients no longer rush to get vaccinated. A situation that pushes city doctors to call for a new extension of the campaign to other age groups than those over 55 years old.

In a video that has gone viral, Patrick Vogt, a general practitioner in Mulhouse, filmed himself throwing an expired AstraZeneca vial for lack of volunteers.

"Among those over 55 years old who have not yet been vaccinated, about a third do not want AstraZeneca and between 5 and 10% do not want to be vaccinated at all".

True, but that's medicine for the sick.
Justifying treating healthy people is more dubious. Vaccines are not medicines.
We need to do it to all, nuff with the talking, it's time to act! more Baton less talk! I mean if Grandma don't want it! drag her out of the house, use the baton, then jab her, it's for the common good of all!

But the vast majority of people who don't want the vaccine now aren't antivaxxers.
They are just anti vaccine rather than anti-vaxxers.

Help help I'm being oppressed........with healthcare.

I had my first AZ dose about an hour ago.
Everyone was lovely and asked and answered all the questions I or they had.
No biggee...plenty of due care and attention given.

Still against forcing it though except in exceptional cases like care homes. I feel the more it is forced, the more it plays into the hands of lunatic fringe.
Too early for this anyway as all age groups have yet to be offered the vaccine.

Lots of unpaid volunteers in the vaccination centres.

I agree, however once it's just the lunatic fringe who are unvaccinated and potentially acting as a pool of infection then it's something worth looking into. Currently as you say while most of the planet is struggling to meet demand it's a waste of time, other than as an interesting discussion.

I believe so as we have an arena dedicated to it but i chose the pharmacy route, as less ppl and they know me. If i get too anxious, usually around too many ppl, then i tend to panic and forget things, like important questions, which i did not today.
I imagine there will be some who will refuse so we'll have to cross that bridge at some point but i expect most will do the right thing by others, at least in my part of town.
Students are the big unknown on the edge of where i live...how that goes will be crucial i think.

Nice work.
However: That is a proposal, put forward by the German health ministry. An excellent and valid idea and will no doubt, come in to law. But still, at this time, a proposal.

There is no need to translate, there is a tab at the top, to read in all in English.

Compulsory medication, is only allowed, for those, under some sections of the Mental Heath Act. Next?

PPE, is completely covered, under Heath and Safety laws. How people/businesses want to change that, is down to the courts and thinking about it. The unvaccinated could in the future, could find themselves 'excluded'; as they themselves are a risk. But that is not within the HSA laws today.

People who can't have the jab, for genuine medical reasons. Will be affected, like it or not. Why would an employer choose someone not vaccinated, over someone vaccinated; when offered the choice? Over the decades, this has happened with, gender, race, age, criminal convictions and many other bigoted reasons, for choosing one person, over another.

Human nature, is a fickle thing.
