Do NPC's Have Missiles ?

I was doing Courier Missions with NO Cargo, Why interdict me ?

Everything was going ok, with scatered interdictions, untill yesterday.
When I had a string of back to back interdictions, the last being
a Deadly rated attacker, who Destroyed me with missles.
I did not know NPC's could use missles.

That is bad enough, but my problem is:
ON THE BUY BACK SCREEN I CHOSE MY ASP-X WITH EVERYTHING SAME AS MY DESTROYED SHIP.
BUT WHEN I RESPONDED IN MY SHIP, ALL MY MODULES ARE GONE, WITH NONE OF MY EQUIPMENT,
No Hard points, No Utillites, No Optional Equipment, AND MY SHIP SETTINGS CHANGED.

I TRIED TO SUBMIT A TICKET, AFTER BEING FORCED TO DO 10-15 CAPCHAS,
BUT WAS THEN GIVEN A MESSAGE, THAT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO SUBMIT AT THIS TIME.
WHY ?

NPCs use missile, but only after your shields are down.

On the rebuy screen, by standard all your modules are checked for the rebuy. If you selected them all again, you unchecked them, so you didn't get them on the rebuy.

You might want to contact support (https://customersupport.frontier.co.uk), explain your situation, and you'll have a good chance to get your ship back (once ... so learn from the mistake).
 
I usually fit a forward-firing PDT (as well as one protecting my cargo hatch) as I have often come across missile-firing ships* even though I never stay in a fight if my shields drop - so they must use them against shielded ships.

* I think (no supporting evidence) this is usually from low-rated interdicting pirate scum but I don't do much combat so it is just an impression.

"Enemy ships may be sent after you."

It's pretty rare. And usually it's an "enemy in the system" alert that you can ignore, or reach the destination quick enough not to worry. But sometimes they will hunt you down, sometimes they will be persistent, and if you're taking Elite ranked missions, those enemies can be quite strong, especially if you're an explorer just getting some rep.
 
Regarding the interdictions, the higher your reputation is with the factions you're running missions for, the more dangerous the missions will be. Stacking courier missions just multiplies the possibility of interdiction attempts and that's why it can get annoying once in a while.

Like others have said, Point Defense Turrets are great as a missile defense. Also, you can dodge a lot if your movement is unpredictable as most are dumbfire missiles, so they won't track you. Just swirl around at random in a forward direction while your FSD charges and less will be likely to hit you. Another note is that high waking (jumping to another system) is supposed to bypass any mass lock factors that bigger ships might impose on you, so you could potentially get out faster than just trying to hit supercruise.

Still hard to Play like I want, when back to back interdiction's and missiles are used against me.
BUT still don't understand why the re-buy page would have anything other than the Sidewinder
or Complete Ship with all Modules, as a choice, when you have the Full Amount to cover the Insurance.
I picked my current ship, and did not see anything about wiping ALL hard points, utilities, and optional modules.
Why have Insurance and a re buy at all ? And if I wanted to remove anything, I would go to outfitting to do it.
This was some kind of glitch or I am blind and missed a well placed doo dad.
In any case, have not been able to submit a Ticket, still no help.
So I will not play anymore, until this is resolved, I will not waste time to re do my ship.
As far as the game is concerned, I am just one player, BUT if one player does not matter, NO Player matters.
And if that is how FD feels about it, I will be done with this game and anything from Frontier.

don't stack missions if you don't want to get more than one enemy ship after you, or chose missions carefully and take only missions without enemy ships chance. Winning interdictions (instead of submitting) reduces the pool of enemies after you.
against missiles, there are lots of counters to them - point defense, ECM, evasive flying, shields, speed - use at least a few of them. for courier missions a small & fast ship is nearly untouchable by missiles and harder to interdict. Or any ship while its shields are up. Or a hulltank with point defenses.

On the rebuy screen, when you don't touch anything else, you get offered a free sidwinder or your existing ship with all your modules. You can uncheck those modules, in case you want to safe a bit on the rebuy, and there is a button that toggles all. If you click that button once, it will uncheck your modules, if you rebuy after that click, they are gone (as this is what you asked the game to do).
In any case, have not been able to submit a Ticket, still no help.

What is the problem with submitting a ticket? Can you post the error message?

Setting an ultimatum does not solve your problem, nor will it make anyone at frontier aware about your problem. The only one losing out is you (since you won't be able to play the game you bought, and hopefully enjoy, apart from your current problem). If you don't give up at this minor inconvenience (and it is not more than that, even if it feels like the end of the world right now), you'll make up the loss in no time. You don't even need any of the lost stuff for courier missions.
You can even get help from people from the community, we are not all cold blooded killers, some actually like to help others. So don't give up.

Don't do reverskies then ... they are boring anyhow! 😝

I can't say that matches my experience, I never get an incoming missile warning with shields up, and never (or at most extremely rarely) see any unguided missiles shot in my general direction. Except those enzyme missiles in some CZs, for some reason, though I am partly convinced they are just really bad shots.

No cargo, doing only courier missions, and combat rating Harmless.
Got Three interdiction's in a row, back to back, evaded the first 2,
but the Last one was a Dangerous Anaconda that mass locked me,
and then used a missile to take me out.
But Hey, I can play the game the way I like, RIGHT ?

So I was angry when the re buy screen came up, picked my ASP,
hit the all button and finished with a ship with everything gone.
My mistake ? Maybe, but then up to now, can't get any help.
So until I get my ship back like it was, I will not put any more of my time in this game.
OR ever anything by this company again.
In the meantime, I will keep an eye out for the Issue tracker to work, and make a ticket.
I feel they have pushed me to the line at this point, just won't let you play the game,
gotta mess with you every way they can, one interdiction, no can't have that, just keep pushing.
Same with the grind, nerfs, bottlenecks and nonsense, that takes all the fun out of this game.
And now, instead of fixing the jewel they have, they gotta play in the dirt.
I though everyone wanted LEGS to walk around in their ships, not for a FP Shooter.
Sorry, but I am POed, because I feel like I not only lost my ship, time and money,
but also the Faith I had in the Devs.

I'm pretty certain that's not true.
The only time I use reversky tactics is in my heavily shielded Corvette - I hate NPC with missiles then, because I can't see a thing through explosions when they bombard me with them while pursuing 😆

When I take on one of those pirate assassination mission of 30 pirates I almost always get a few pirates who throw missiles at me. And my 'vette's shields are never down. I don't do the reversky though, as I'm too busy flying right at them. :)

Just one more reason, why I love and respect the people in this community.
Also why I keep hanging onto this game, without your support, I would have gone long ago.
We might not always agree, but the respect is always there.
 
Well I'm happy to report that the link given, brought quick results.
The support agent Luna, not only fixed the problem, but was very nice about it.
