No Odyssey for LEP owners?

Sure, but that's not the reason. Even when the servers are up the option is still greyed out.
It's because it doesn't work if you launch it directly from Steam as normal.
did you do something in particular to have it work? Because if i launch elite from steam the option is greyed out, if i launch the launcher from the folder i can click install but then the client freezes and nothing happens, someone with the same problem?
So it seems like that if even if you have the option greyed out, if you push "Enter" on the keyboard you'll start the download
I am not on steam, however someone did say that if they run the Launcher from the Steam directory, they were able to download.
LEP here too and had the same issue as OP going through Steam (because I didn't buy it there). Launching the launcher directly from the ED folder initiated the install.
Yes, but trough Steam, on the launcher you will find the "Install" button greyed out and unclickable, but if you use "Enter" on the keyboard it starts the download even if you can't click on "Install", hope it helps
I can confirm that this is hilarious and also true. Click on the gray Install button, then press Enter.
If, like me you have several installs of Steam apps/library/games etc, then go to the Game name in your library, right click, go thru Manage to Browse local files, and double click the EDLaunch.exe.
You'll have to login again but it should be able to install Odyssey from there.

So I started the download by activating the launcher in the Steamapps ED directory but even after downloading Odyssey and running it for the first time it's not authenticating with the login server.
EDIT: Log out Machine from the launcher and a relog helped. It's finally running.

Same here. Bit annoyed the install/update has to go through FD servers instead of the Steam ones...
yep same thing, after the hotfix was out and people were playing my Steam did an update of Elite that was 0 bytes and then the launcher complained it wasn't updated when i ran it from steam. I tried verify files in steam which found 3065 files it needed to re-download, but it still said it needed an update.I had this yesterday, had to run the launcher from windows Explorer ... todays update ... same again. Is it really the difficult to get it working Frontier?
Running the launcher manually seems to be the only way to get the update.
I have horizon on steam and odyssey from frontier store. Steam doesn't update odyssey. Got response from frontier support. They can't give steam keys anymore. Also there is no way to activate odyssey on steam. So only way is refund it on frontier losing pre-ordering bonus and buy it on Steam instead. So no luck for you LEP guys.
Please let us know what comes out of it. I didn't feel like adding a similar ticket as I suspect those keys will end up appearing in the account details at some point (once they're done extinguishing the other fires). Can't remember how it worked for Horizons. Did the keys come straight away? Or was Horizons released before the Steam version? Hmmm.
