Any Below Min Specs players in yet?

I know there’s a few of us who have PCs that failed to meet the min specs for Odyssey, unfortunately I’m still waiting for the download to complete so won’t be able to test for a while yet. But wondered if anyone had managed to get the game to run on a potato yet?

I’m talking people who are still running 2GB GPUs etc.

I’ll report back once I have the option to run the game, whether it runs or not...

Lol yeah I’m gathering that’s the bigger issue right now. Still some people made it in even for a minute so I’d be interested to hear from anyone who even managed to get the tutorial started on a breeze block powered by hamsters.

Yes, I am!
I'm running what a lot of people on here would call a proper potato.... an i5-3550, gtx970, 16gb.
I've got a lot of things down at low and medium but it so far it is playable - to me anyway, but I suspect my expectations are quite low compared to others! My resolution is 1440 x 900 and on the concourse I'm getting 40-50fps

That is excellent news, and gives me some semblance of hope. unfortunately It took my evening to download the game so I'll be jumping on later to finally try it out on my system. it was a little slow running the planetary generation on startup just now but I didn't quite have time to launch the game. looking forward to later.

I am running the game with a geforce 710m 1GB, i3-3217U (2 cores, 4 threads) and 8GB of RAM. In Odyssey, while in planetary settlements I get 5-10 fps at lowest graphics and 65% of the resolution. The guns, ships, characters and other objects look low-poly. I have so bad performance that looks like it affects the AI, they start to "shake" and move strange, they never shoot me until i look at the sky, which gives me around 15-20 fps.

On Horizons the worst performance I get is like 25-30 fps on planets with the terraing settings to medium and 85% of the resolution.

I knew the updated graphics would have an impact on performance, but if i remeber correctly we where told that Odyssey was going to be optimized so we could play on our current machines

I'm using max details at 1920x1200 with the following:
Ryzen 7 3700x (8 vcores)
16GB ECC
gtx1070 8GB

My system runs windows in a VM with the gpu passed through so I loose roughly 10% cpu performance but cpu is only about 18% utilised and gpu pinned at 100%

I get between 16fps min and I reckon I average between 35 - 40fps on a planet and ~60fps when in a ship planetside and about 150fps in the void.

Nvidia Geforce MX250 at 1200x800, Quality medium. (Huawei Matebook Pro 2020).
Suffices for learning to walk until the console version is released.

Lesson learned so far: X is not for going backwards, however you are moved backward quiet suddenly in a closed space. :)

My GPU (R9 280) is just below minimum specs (R9 280 X).
30 - 24 -21 fps inside the settlements and inside the stations / ports concourse.

CPU is a Xeon 1231 @ 3,4 Ghz (Intel 4 core, 8 threads), RAM is 16 GB DDR 3
CPU usage is low.

GTX660, blurry AF, movement like wading thru porridge. Even going through the options menu to set key binds was slow, with some mouseclicks not even getting registered.

Ok so I ran it today. It looked like total garbage. Ran better at medium settings but still everything looked like crumpled cardboard and the whole back of the scarab in the tutorial was missing. Just floating panels.

i5 4460 and GTX 750 Ti.

So below spec, and it’s very expensive to upgrade right now to any GPU above 4GB, seems a waste of money to bother. Back to horizons for the most part I think. Fingers crossed they can meet me halfway with the optimisation.

I mean, I managed to kill the guys on the tutorial and actually really enjoyed it, I felt like my pc could handle it for the most part. But it looked so so bad.
