Will we get to choose a suit when we first get Odyssey the way we can choose a Sidewinder loadout in a brand new game?

I’d ask in the Odyssey Alpha board if it were still up, but anyway... I’m currently half a galaxy away from the nearest space station. I’m kinda hoping I won’t need to spend two days going flat-out (scoop-honk-jump-scoop-honk-jump) to get to the nearest station to buy an Artemis suit. Especially considering that carriers (such as DSSA carriers) don’t have common spaces with vendors from which to make such purchases.

I looked up Beagle Point on EDSM (haven’t been out there yet but it’s closer to me than the bubble, Colonia, or Sag A*). Surprised given its prominence that there isn’t a station built out there. Is Explorer’s Anchorage (neighboring Sag A*) the most remote station there is?

We should have an explorer’s meetup in Fleetcomm at Explorer’s Anchorage on release day. I flew there last week. Only took me a few hours to get to Sgr A* from the Zephyrus region.

To answert he question in the title: no, you will start the game (either as a new player or as a new import from Horizons to Odyssey) with just the basic "flight suit", which isn't all that great for exploration - you can land and walk about, but you won't be able to scan biologicals. To get your Artemis, you'll need to be back in inhabited space.

I can't really see any logical mechanism that would justify a station out there except for maybe scientific research, but even that would be a push given that we can get to the edge of the galaxy much easier and much closer to the bubble. While a station would be nice, I think I would also prefer some sort of logic behind that existence!

Don't forget, there was supposed to be a station at Beagle Point. Jaque was trying to fly his space station out to Beagle Point, but broke down and got stuck in Colonia instead.

Sadly just discovered you cannot get new suits from Fleet Carriers either

Was hoping one of the DSSI Ships could save the trip to a star port
