New outfitting screen is a big leap backwards, please bring back the old UI

The new outfitting screen UI is a great leap backwards. In the attempt to over-simplify the UI, many great elements of the old UI were culled.

When buying or replacing a module, you cannot see the comparison between the two modules, and sometimes there is no information at all:

The ability to install a stored module from the list of currently installed modules is lost, instead you can only install modules from the "stored modules" screen.

I was speechless at just how bad of a downgrade the new UI screen is. Please consider adding the removed features, or even better still, please bring back the old UI. Please.

Wait, is it like that in Horizons too? I thought that they were not going to give us the downgraded UI "features" in Horizons until console release.
From your pics, outfitting does look like they screwed it up a bit. I have been asking for more granularity, not less. Well, this is the early post alpha period, perhaps they will fix it b4 the full release in the fall.

Horizons still looks the same as it did before the update.
They got loads of negative feedback on the "updated" outfitting screens during Alpha, but have pushed ahead anyway. The Horizons outfitting is just way more intuitive and easy to use.

The old UI is much simpler and easier to handle than the new one but if they have decided on something then it is probably for some reason 🎮.

Said this back in Alpha - the Outfitting, Gal Map and system map are all garbage. They need to revert all of them back to Horizons style
This. There was no need to verschlimmbesser* Odysseys UI.

*verschlimmbessern is german and is an amalgamation of bettering and worsing, so basically betterworsening.

Verb. verschlimmbessern ( weak, third-person singular present verschlimmbessert, past tense verschlimmbesserte, past participle verschlimmbessert, auxiliary haben ) (somewhat informal) to make something worse in an honest but failed attempt to improve it

As a gamepad player I can debunk your theory - it's often worse compared to M&K (many, many, many more button presses required for certain things) so I don't think they designed this with a pad in mind.

To me it feels like they designed it with a touch screen in mind. I'm not even kidding.

I like the new UI a lot, I think the core of it is way better and more intelligent than the old system.

It is missing some features, yes, but that's a reason to iteratively improve it, not go back to a crappier design just because people have confused their familiarity with intuitiveness.
