Why Frontier did that?

I don't understand why Frontier risk so much criticism launching and selling a DLC so full of problems, barely addressing so many bugs reported during "Alpha" tests.

This DLC has serious problems! Missions absent from many places, planetary scanner bugged AGAIN! Raw material farming geological points vanished from planets, same bugs from NPCs at Starports, game too much dark, and much more...

Despair for money? Perhaps they trust that ED community will support even a faulty DLC?

This is so unprofessional.

  • Odyssey was already heavily delayed.
  • Frontier`s financial year-end is May 31
  • Frontier is a publicly listed company.

If you cant work it out from there, then I doubt you`ll accept any explanation for why they went ahead with the release

It's simple: fiscal year ending soon, gotta get that expansion money in now.

... because like in every other update, after the servers settle and a couple patches most of the issues will be fixed, the raging mobs will again put down their pitchforks and most people will just enjoy the game and forget all about the post-release drama-queening until the next major (or minor) update. All of this has happened before, and it will happen again.
I think most of us were hoping that the bugs and issues would be fixed for "release" and then FDev would use the next 6 months, up to the console release, to make Odyssey a game and not a tech demo.

Give us:
  • Ship interiors
  • Proper multicrew
  • Proper wings
  • Proper NPC crew
  • Star ports
  • Exploration
Pilot stuff.

Good lord yes. I want all of this.

Full ship interiors can come later, but the ability to walk the already modelled areas (Bridge, SRV bay, Hangar bay) and maybe an Airlock? Please.

And proper cooperative multiplayer mode that doesn't feel cobbled together across about 4 different projects? Hallelujah.
