Frontier, I demand a formal apology

I would argue that 90% of their playerbase doesn't watch the streams, so having an under-their-breath apology at the end of such a stream isn't really good enough.
How then should said apology be delivered? Over 90% of their player base doesn't belong to this forum, either.

Oh wait, I have an idea!

Send one of these over to my house. I'll buy Odyssey just for this, LOL (shh, don't tell the wife)

By not releasing broken PAID expansions to meet some arbitrary deadline on a calendar.

This isn't the first time this has happened. But this community has been so pummeled by these releases they've pretty much just accepted it and lie back and let Frontier have at it, giving no reason for them to change.

Maybe Frontier needs to just lose one. Seriously, maybe they just need to actually suffer some major financial disaster or a major investor to pull their money out of them to wake them up. The corporate equivalent of a right cross to the face. I dont like wishing ill on anyone but honestly I dont know what form and what magnitude this needs to happen to get them to change.

I'm super happy it was a PAID expansion, since my money is still in my wallet and this thing called Odyssey is nowhere near my hard drive. Had it been a free expansion, like the new and "improved" planet tech and UI that Frontier threatens promises to roll back into Horizons later this year, then I would be angry and beating a very loud drum.

I guess I'm still beating a very loud drum, considering how active I've been in the forum the last couple of days, but that's just because I like to make noise, LOL.

After the Fleet Carrier update I was 1000% sure that they would screw this up, and I am not disappointed, they screwed it up.
It is just a DLC for a game not the end of the world. I hope to earn a few extra credits on the matter ... or to loose everything.

Here I’m .... reading some random TOTTALY UNIMPORTANT individu demanding an apology from an Corporate giant Frontier on Internet forum who stole his 50 bucks. 😂😂😂
The planet earth is a truly hilarious place

Oh no, this is in no way a sales failure, quite the opposite it is.

Ok, it went down a little, but is still in the list. Plus the copies FD sold via other channels, including the FD site.

And tbh Odyssey is a very ambitious endeavour we can be glad FD undertook, regardless of the current results which are definitely cyberpunky. It's sad for the team it always ends up this way, they obviously put a lot of thought and hard work into many aspects of the game, and few could create a similar thing. You can get a refund if you will, but I'm confident the end product will be fine and one day, we will all have RTX4 graphic cards sold at affordable prices and everything will be well. Hopefully, but there are no alternatives anyway.

O7,
🙃

This is a huge sales failure, a deep broken DLC, a fantastic idea squandered by lack of honesty and unprofessional behavior.

Frontier, you are trying to sale a deeply broken expansion as a full and finished DLC. This is, I should say, a borderline negligence. I should use another word, but I stop short of say it.

I pay for this debacle, and I demand formal apology to me and all players who trust our work and received the same problematic "Alpha" without any improvement.
I presume this is Ironic / sarcastic / a parody ?

I ignored all marketing, didn't follow the development, had 0 expectations because it's Frontier

Slight contradiction there.
You had Zero expectations because it's Frontier.

Then your expectation being a release that would never meet the marketing and community hype.

Then please don't be critical to someone who IS going through these issues and having a hard time with it. You didn't buy the expansion (which honestly is seeming like the wiser course of action for now.) and you're not having to experience these issues, alright good for you. But that also means that you kind of have no leg to stand on with the people who did and are.

I've kind of had to step away from it (unwillingly) because the launcher is having all sorts of issues recognizing it's own files and won't launch the game. But I've experienced enough to know my pre-release concerns were more than justified. I laid down exactly what was going to happen, and was met with "You don't run a billion dollar company", "your opinion doesn't matter." blah blah blabbity freaking blah. The expansion wasn't ready, period. It needed more time. And honestly it begs the question of what in the blue hell has frontier been doing for the past 3 years, because it wasn't Horizons, we were told the reason why all the issues in Horizons wasn't being addressed was "All the focus was on Odyssey, the new era and we need to be patient.", so we did, begrudgingly but we did. Now we are here and THIS is the end result? Something doesn't smell right, not with all the time, manpower and money that has been claimed to have been invested. Someone is either lying through their teeth or hilariously incompetent at their jobs or both. Covid or no Covid, Three YEARS Duck, Three YEARS.

This was supposed to be the "New Era" remember? and right now it just seems more of the same.

Seriously, this is your thinking? A new graphics card will do zero good for my gaming LAPTOP, which BTW runs amazing-looking games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator in high quality with great performance. The idea that I would need to buy a video card from the future to play a game (Odyssey) with graphics from the past is ludicrous. Heck, RDR2 on my ancient PS4 looks and runs better than Odyssey on high-end gaming PCs!

I'm so offended by your post that I demand a formal apology! (Not really, now I'm just poking fun at the OP)

You make it sound like you've been diagnosed with cancer rather than someone who unwisely paid [insert price you spent Odyssey preorder] on a video game that will be (hopefully) mostly fixed in the coming weeks. Sorry, but I'm not sorry.
