Are maglocks bugged?

I've found some difficult to open but have managed to get into all of them at crash sites so far (did have one in a settlement fail to open.)

When the panel is at an odd angle especially, I think attacking it from a different side might be making the difference for me

edit: while the game is still very much in critical bug smashing mode (especially as you didn't open the panel yet and it's not a relog per se) I don't think relogging from menu is out of order if you've a mission to complete. You might find the panel resets or the crash site respawn more accurately in the terrain. I had one where my target material had spawned underground. On a reload I got it.

Yeah tried both different angles and relogging :)

I've come across some lockers that I couldn't cut open. I wasn't sure whether it was a bug or maybe that some are extra reinforced. But it probably is a bug!

I finally got a maglock open! now what I am supposed to do with these? I can't interact or do a thing it seems.

I've found 2 of these today on a crashed DBX, and the other anomalous part of the whole thing is that the POI on the nav list doesn't have a name. Is that the case with others that have found them on crashed ships?

I confirm. A POI without name, a crashed vessel and I can't open its maglocks with arc cutter

I've found a crashed ship that has a maglock. I've got the arc cutter and despite about 30 minutes of cutting the thing it won't release.
I had a couple missions with srv s in the bay, but the mag lock wasnt coming open. I looked at it and the scorch marks were spotty, even though I went across it a couple times and I’m pretty used to this so I knew I’d done it right. Still I really wanted the power regulator so I tried it from a few different angles and sometimes I’d get a different effect with a buzzing sound, and when I checked again the scorch marks were nearly there. I went through a full energy cell but I finally got it open. The 2nd one was similar but knowing to try a few angles and listen for the right sound I got it quicker.
so yes they’re bugged but if you really want in and you’re persistent you can get it.

power regulators were dead though :(

I've not had any problems since "release". If you're using head tracking switch it off when you want to use tools or guns though, as leaving it on makes it much more difficult to line up your tool ;) or aim down sights.

There is certainly a "knack" to lining things up, but not had any issue other than parts being obscured by the ground. Whether that's intended or not - who knows? 🤷‍♀️

I've done a few now and they've all worked. There was one that wasn't cutting all the way but I worked out I was doing it from the wrong side (above instead of below). As soon as I cut it from below it opened.

Cutting and looting issues happen from time to time, but so far I've found it to be a rare occurrence.

They're awkward, as the cutter keeps sliding off if you are looking down at the wrong angle, it seems. But I haven't failed to open one yet - just requires moving. Usually the maglocks are easier as they are just a straight line. I often find that the cutter gets stuck on the corner of a maintenance hatch and I have to release it (but I can still finish the cut).

had a shipwreck that could not be opened (diamondback type, both locks), the cut just would not go all the way no matter how much i tried
other wrecks was no problem.. maybe it depends on what ship model it is?
