I'd personally prefer it if they just reduced all the material requirements by a factor of 3.they should really give 3 units for any material picked - like it happens with Horizons materials.

Yeh, that x3 quick fix really papered over the issue and that it still remains in place several years later really goes to show the lacking attention the whole process got.I'd personally prefer it if they just reduced all the material requirements by a factor of 3.
Yeah, I still haven't found a single opinion poll.Yeh, that x3 quick fix really papered over the issue and that it still remains in place several years later really goes to show the lacking attention the whole process got.
Obviously, I'd take x3. But that's still 14 Opinion Polls and that's still a massive grind. I don't think anyone can appreciate how much of a grind it is until they start looking for them.
Just as an update. I went down to a Tourist settlement to do a power up mission and there was nothing to download (at all) from any of the data ports and every closed locker and chest was empty. So I dunno if that's another bug, another CMDR had recently been there, or RNG really hated me last night.
I tried 5 Data ports (completely empty) and about 20 or so lockers / chests (all empty, but the lockers etc were closed).
Also crashed twice but I DID manage to complete the power up and not get a 100k c fine so I guess thats something![]()
Probably the easiest method is the tourist spots that have 6-7 HABs in them. But even then... you need to get to them and repeating the process is sloooooow.Yeah, I still haven't found a single opinion poll.
It does. But I think that if this "deleting everything on relog" is intended, it's a horrible way to "fix" the issue of relogski. More so when disconnects and CTDs happen as frequently as they do.Since Hotfix 2, relogging at a site deletes everything but any mission items you were supposed to collect. Your crashes (at least) probably made that happen.
Leaving the site and returning may respawn the stuff that vanished.
Yeah, I still haven't found a single opinion poll.
Knowing FDev. likely that actually intended. And, as usual, that's likely take half+ year, and several hundred pages of critique, for FDev finally acknowledge that it's wrong, and should be reverted. It does. But I think that if this "deleting everything on relog" is intended, it's a horrible way to "fix" the issue of relogski. More so when disconnects and CTDs happen as frequently as they do.
I've got a suspicion it may be unintended though. It's a really flaky "feature" if not.
Ah and Ydiss mentioned this too actually. That could well be why there was nothing in the lockers or data ports. The first soft crash was during the mission so.Since Hotfix 2, relogging at a site deletes everything but any mission items you were supposed to collect. I went to a "resort" thing, and only found one data port in a lounge thing. None in the rooms. Any tip on good outpost for that ?It's pretty much been spoiled already.
Any HAB data port. You get more at two of the tourism setlement types. Can't relogski though, all data clears to zero if you relog (that's acros the whole game for settlements only, started happening the other day, not convinced it's intended - but it's annoying). The best settlement type offers 7 ports and you get none more often than you get 1 and I've never seen more.
It's easily the worst grind the game's seen to date. Hence my thread. I've got 4 after two days. I decided to stop. I'm not doing this for 20 days. Not when we have no idea what it'll unlock (it could be rubbish).
You got unlucky and found the one that's not greatI went to a "resort" thing, and only found one data port in a lounge thing. None in the rooms. Any tip on good outpost for that ?
Thanks mate, I'm in anarchy, I'm the worst person ever when doing stealth, so I know it's going to get bloody. I'm dreading the heist part. You got unlucky and found the one that's not greatThere are two other types: One is there the landing pad is in the middle with a PWR station one side and the Habs on the other. That has 5 HAB plus the bar for 6 in total. There's another one that's bigger and that has 6 HABs and the bar for 7.
I just kept looking until I found one I liked that was anarchy so I could just kill them. Sadly, it's still ultra grindy so I've given up. I find the odd opinion poll from data ports elsewhere and I'm just going to let that happen naturally. It's really badly designed though. I hope they change it.
Yup. Super cruise away, fly up to orbital cruise, level out, slow down to 0 throttle, turn back around and go back again. Dock. Repeat. Thanks mate, I'm in anarchy, I'm the worst person ever when doing stealth, so I know it's going to get bloody. I'm drading the heist part.
I heard there is a way to reset the outpost, but I don't remember how (supercruise I think it was ?).
I think the idea is you don't grind, but rather pick them up as you find them, then (one day) have enough for the upgrade.Yeh, that x3 quick fix really papered over the issue and that it still remains in place several years later really goes to show the lacking attention the whole process got.

It's any habitat data port and they're all over the place. Mining, military and more.Tourist Settlements (as others have said) and I've seen them at Analytics Settlements, too!
Yeh in this case "one day" is a long way away.I think the idea is you don't grind, but rather pick them up as you find them, then (one day) have enough for the upgrade.
That's how I did the engineering in Horizons and never felt I was 'grinding'.
I'm doing the 3 different POI I have. Resort was a bust as I said. Lodging seems to be the one you mentioned, large pad in the middle, scattered hab around. I have the spa to do afterwards. It's any habitat data port and they're all over the place. Mining, military and more.
