Can't pay off bounties sometimes.

For the third time now I have ended up with a bounty resulting from bad activities during a mission that can't be paid off with the interstellar faction contact back at the mission source station.

It says galaxy wide bounty 12,500 and wanted in my ship, but no bounties show up at all with the contacts. The first two times, I just turned myself in to get rid of it, but even that doesn't show up at the station now.

Edit: I just flew to a station with that faction and the only option that shows up there is to turn myself in. So I can't pay the bounty off at all without going to jail?

I've done tons of missions that resulted in bounties and I've always just been able to pay them off at the mission source stations Interstellar contact.

I guess I don't really understand the system at play here...

Just did another mission, same thing. There's really no option to pay off the bounty? The only thing I can do is fly to the issuing system and turn myself in?

I re-logged and the bounty from this one faction is still there.

I completed another mission alongside this one, and I was able to clear that bounty at the station, no dice with this other faction.

Can someone just affirm that if you gain bounties from murdering fools during a mission that you're able to pay them off at the interstellar faction with at the issuing station?

I'm trying to see if it's a bug with just this faction. Being forced to fly all the way to their system and turn myself in to clear the bounty is a giant buzz kill.

You must pay from ANOTHER system. You can do if that by finding interstellar factors 20+ ly away.
Once you paid it will REMAIN in tab until you :
1. relog
or
2. jump & exit-enetr ship
Not sure which (1) or (2) worked for me, but eventually it works.

Alright, thanks guys. I'll give that a shot this evening.

I think the station might be less than 20ly away.

It's based on the faction owning the starport/outpost, not necessarily range. Chances are, outside 20ly you'd get what you need of course but not necessarily. I just think it helps to be specific. It makes more sense too. Why would they let you pay off the bounty if it's their bounty?

You can manage this within 20ly, you just need to use Inara to find an IF nearby and look for the stations that aren't owned by the faction you got the bounty from.

Yeh, I was getting bounties in system today. This system had faction + interstellars. When I came to station - nothing worked. All 4 options to pay were missing. So I jumped 35 ly to another interstellar and payed there ok (and it was in list for some time yet as I said).

No, owner was another - anarch. I was killing 2% faction. And still couldn't pay in this system.

I know about yes. I waited to decay prior trying current system :D Only jump away worked for me for 35ly.
