No, actually, I dont have ANYTHING better to do at this moment other than communicate about the product I've looked forward to for 2 years, which is broken and being defended by weird accounts who don't seem to value their own time or money invested in it like I do. Im at home because of a long term COVID issue, which has left my family with only one income and an immune-compromised person at that, so we have to stay inside all the time and I take care of kids who are in distance learning, so NO! I dont have ANYTHING better to do at this moment, thanks.

playing much better today, BUT... still getting uncompletable missions, particularly support missions where one is contacted with a bonus for killing scavengers. the problem possibly lies in the mission asking for you to kill 0/0 scavengers to get the bonus

Sorry if you took it that way. What I meant is... Elite Dangerous has elements of simulation, immersion, MMORPG, now we even have FPS elements. The game is suited for a great variety of audiences but I don't think it will try to focus in any of them.

  • It will not focus on simulation
  • It will not focus on the MMORPG aspect
  • It will not focus on solely immersion
  • It will not focus on the FPS element

I think Frontier wants to reach as many types of audiences as possible. With the FPS element we now have a new wave/type of players jumping in.

What I meant to say to you specifically is that Elite Dangerous doesn't want or even tries to be a purist in anything. At least not for now. Elements like the no-sound in space would go in that direction. I mentioned to another user that a toggled option would satisfy it. It never hurts to add more options. Note: options. With that I am mostly okay.

Even myself, I asked for a 3rd person view option while on-foot.

I am suffering from severe mental health issues, and this game has been a good way to distract myself from anxiety and depression, that, is it mainly was until all the problems we saw in Alpha came back tenfold. there is progress being made in game stability and planet tech, but still, way too many things broken.

I would also have to say that this game has been a passion of mine since the original Elite, and perhaps because so many people are so passionate about the game, the very broken version of EDO left so many people so upset.
(I do like the shiny exobiology and combat kit...)

Having got my version of 'Oddity' free as an LEP owner, dipped my toes in, experienced the car crash UI, repeating planet texture tiles, overdone glowing planets, crap sun fx (which were fine in Horizons btw), blah blah blah and blah. Only so much negative stuff i can write, otherwise it would turn into a wall of text. Refuse to play this excuse for a release until FD really try to sort things out and make it playable. Until then, back to Horizons, which at least doesn't crash on me and i can do things, not perfect but way better than this so called release.

Quite frankly, given how shoddy this release has been, I've come to the conclusion that I will not buy a single ARX until such time as Frontier delivers what they have sold. Which means they keep the promises, made on their own stream, that Odyssey will run at satisfying speeds on all the systems that ran Horizons. That means they need to do a 4x speed optimization. It means the game needs to run for days at a time without any of the pride-flag-color starships. It means being able to trade with a barman without feeling the need to compare the Elite Community managers with either Prince George or Baldrick. And the list goes on and on. It may not be much, but I've gone from a monthly quota of 51000 ARX to zero, until they deliver on their promises. I will not hand MORE money to someone who's already bait-and-switch scammed me, until they deliver what they originally promised.

I want to report when I am going to burst thargoids, the level 5 variants onwards, when they emit the electromagnetic pulse attack, it generates absolutely nothing on the ship, whether I have the neutralizer or not, the thargoid attack does nothing at all, just see the effect but produce nothing

Fdev and Braben keep doing what you do. I feel the forums on this very page are sufficient. I also understand that to make every single person feel heard is an impossible task. You can be given 1 million good ideas but you have to pick the best ones and make it mesh with previous lore and tech. Out of any game I play I don't get bored with Elite... It looks amazing from a far and I can deal with a few bugs. After all I fight for them anyway and people think I am one. Lmao Keep it up! o7

after today's patch I did a couple of hours with missions of various kinds.
I think I can confirm that the stability has increased a lot. However, I still noticed problems with the completed mission transactions (I thought I had read in the hotfixes that they had been fixed) and I did not notice any improvements in the framerate, in fact it seems a little lower but it could only be my impression.
I must point out something that had never happened to me inside the recreational environments of the stations in the missions (I insert image): in practice the rooms were not drawn until a few meters from the view leaving completely empty the spaces further away or outside the view or only laterally .
The flashlighs also works poorly and lights up jerky (I think it's connected to the fix of the textures mentioned).

That early access tag on steam is user driven? I wasn't aware of that. I thought only the user review score was user driven.

It said early access the morning of release, and has continued to since that day.
