Newcomer / Intro 3g planed own me

select "elite dangerous" from the launcher not "elite dangerous: horizons"
if you select "elite dangerous" option this will place you in orbit above the planet your stuck on
Just a side note because this always worked before so it gets recommended a lot.
Odyssey and Horizons are two different installations. So you can just switch between them unless you have them both installed. Not really a "quick and easy" solution anymore.

if your playing ED:H the solution is still simply launch ED
if your playing ED:O then to my knowledge it is unclear how switching between ED:O and ED:H will work if your travel by taxi etc and not your own ship

of couse you could also contact support asking them to move your toon but it was taking support 72 hours to respond to issues

For PC owners who have installed Odyssey, switching to "Elite Dangerous" is no longer an option. The only options given in the launcher are Horizons and Odyssey.

For player who didn't buy Odyssey this option isn't an option either, AFAIK. The "base game" now includes Horizons.

Well it is still there on my launcher (you just have to scroll down):

Well you never could just switch from Horizons to base, you had to exit the game and click on the other game option.

What happened with the bundling was you just paid for one version but got both a BOGOF.

Ah. I think I misunderstood the "All base game owners will get Horizons" then.

Nonetheless, my point stands - if you get in trouble in Odyssey, you can't just switch to the Horizons version - you would have to have it installed as a separate client.

Care to explain?

I have the base game, Horizons and Odyssey. I can launch either of them from the same launcher. If I ever get into trouble in Odyssey, I can just log off and launch Horizons from the same launcher, without having to fiddle with anything...

The only things is, that once I do that, I get warning: Game cannot load, your save game is on or near a planet. Recover to orbit, or cancel the load?

So I do have an option to recover to orbit, no issues here...

BTW, I just tried that, just to confirm that it is possible...

EDIT: I did not click "Launch to orbit" to be precise... I just cancelled the load, because my ship is in a very nice place on the planet surface and I intend to explore te area a bit... If I click "Launch to orbit", I may not find that place again... So I hope your point does not mean, that there would be an issue after I click "Launch to orbit"...

i try relog on horizons. andi cant load
Can you maybe elaborate more?
  1. what exactly happened
  2. Why are you stuck?
  3. what games you have generally available? Base game? Horizons? Odyssey?
  4. Do you see these games in your launcher?
  5. What error messages are you getting, when you try to reload in Horizons?
Thanks for providing more details when requesting support from fellow commanders... (Or was your post just a statement?)

i try start horisons or standart elite, and i clic 100 times recover orbit.

and its my problem

........

I think @Chris Simon is saying that Horizons needs to be installed. You can just install Odyssey and not click "Install" (or "Upgrade") for the Horizon version (which also installs / updates the base game and Arena IIRC). So if you have not Installed or Updated Horizons then you can't select that to overcome a glitch in Odyssey. If I am misrepresenting what he meant then I hope he will correct me.
