Is there a legal way to increase security class?

Specifically asking for the Rebuy Unlimited machinima but it's a good question in general.

Can one obtain a security class through any legal means? I spent time getting friendly faction status but unfortunately I remain security class 0.

For Rebuy Unlimited we're looking to use a tourism settlement and film in the apartment cabins. Is there no way to be friendly at a tourism (or any other) settlement and get some more freedom to explore the rooms?

Yes.

I can look up the system if you'd like but the spot was on the dark side so it might not be great for shooting until later.
No worries - We spent days looking for a suitable tidally locked atmo world and we found the perfect location. I don't think missions would be a good solution anyway for the many filming days, etc :)

If there is no easier normal way then I would ask FDEV if it was feasable to give security class 1 at friendly status while keeping the picking up of goods illegal. At least the friendly status then means a litttle more and it will help us.

Alternatively we will have to spend e-breaches everytime we need to film in a room that has a security class higher than 0 but jeez that will become a logistical nightmare :)

Thank you for looking to help!

Always happy to help! I would think that FDEV could come up with a solution for you guys.

It's not quite what you want - but you can often walk in if an NPC is entering/exiting or even just walking by the door. It means you can get inside security limited areas without cloning and risking being scanned. Other than that, and - as stated above - getting security authorisation as part of a mission, then not yet.

So we've just been trying with e-breaches, etc; with them being detectable by a guard scan, it becomes a bit hard again.

The best way we've found so far is to e-breach into the power building and disable the authorisation scanners but everytime someone sees us we get caught. For filming that is a nightmare.

Fingers crossed FDEV will confirm that friendly or allied status improves your security scan.

There was talk of your fraction rep affecting your access to settlements during the dev diaries but that mechanic hasn't materialized.

Power up missions would definitely suit your situation the best, as suggested previously. All you have to do is power up the settlement and you have an empty place all to yourself.

The mission itself has a 5 hour or so time limit, but you can spend as long as you want there, even failing the mission just gets you a 100k fine, and you can always steal back the mission given power unit and sell to get half that back.

Or just film and then in the last half hour, complete the mission and repeat.

Just don't do power up missions that mention Scavengers, as you may have to kill them before powering up the station.

Tourist locations have 3 styles of settlement, the one with 6 Hab units and a Leisure facility should give you plenty of shooting locations to use.

Gareth is the same guy that said his favourite thing in Odyssey is the blue circle Armstrong Moment. I wouldn't bother taking any notice of what he says. To me he clearly has no passion or vision for the game. And I suspect he's one of the reasons we got such a shambles on release.
