Clearly you have never been in the industry. You are badly misinformedErhm, no. I disagree on "no vacations, time off, make them work 24/7." That is never ok. Blame the investors and CEO, not the workers.
Clearly.... I have been in the industry, and I don't tolerate labor exploitation of the sort you are referring to.Clearly you have never been in the industry. You are badly misinformed
sorry ... i messed'up with quotes function....I quote myselfand I did not notice any improvements in the framerate, in fact it seems a little lower but it could only be my impression.but I have to say that contrary to what I said above, in the last two hours I seem to have seen a marked improvement in framerate (1 stettlement raid and 2 power restore missions) and almost always I have been at 60 fps (capped with vsynch) in outposts and above 40 in leg fights. I haven't tried combat zones that were the most sacrificed yet, but I'm going to do more tests over the weekend. If that is the way to go, I would say remain optimistic.
BTW - I was in a position to hire and fire programmers, you would never make it in any company I worked at. You would not get beyond the interview...
You want them to keep deceiving the public about the state of their product and charging people for broken turds that they know full well are broken turds? You want them to continue using their paying customers as their QA department because it's cheaper than actually hiring a QA department?Fdev and Braben keep doing what you do. I feel the forums on this very page are sufficient. I also understand that to make every single person feel heard is an impossible task. You can be given 1 million good ideas but you have to pick the best ones and make it mesh with previous lore and tech. Out of any game I play I don't get bored with Elite... It looks amazing from a far and I can deal with a few bugs. After all I fight for them anyway and people think I am one. Lmao Keep it up! o7
Yes and the emblem of the Empire displayed on the walls of each office.Also... No vacations or time off, put your people to work 24/7.
One of the things I really like about it - space looks more like space now. Never could stand games that shoved colourful clouds all over it (unless they were aiming for a deliberately sytlised look); ED isn't as bad as some but it's still a bit cringey, it would be like scattering colours all over the snow in the snowy bits of Skyrim to make it look "prettier."...but I still cannot abide the new 'darkness of space' which now looks almost pitch black.

Pity we can't all be accommodated with an option for a realistic or a stylised, take your pick choice though. Can't see it having any gameplay impact or being technically problematic.
The VR experience in Odyssey is absolutely horrendous. We already knew the idiotic pancake approach to on-foot in VR was going to be what they gave us, but none of the VR experience is worth it. NONE. Horizons is infinitely better in every way.Just taking my first actual footsteps in Odyssey. I've been very critical about in-ship bugs and the user interface but aside from problems I'm experiencing in the area of exploration, I do believe I'm quite impressed with how walking is implimented around the station shops. Also glad that I don't have to remove my VR headset. I'm beginning to think the game has lots of potential but I still cannot abide the new 'darkness of space' which now looks almost pitch black. Frontier definitely have a lot of optimising to do, especially with regard to ship movement in stations and the associated frame judder but hopefully a fix will be found much sooner than later. I'm now thinking Odyssey could just turn out good in time if Frontier listen to the needs of players. Even the new UI is beginning to grow on me (just a little bit). Of course there is still lots of teething troubles ahead but I've developed a sense of excitement that things may just turn out right in the end. It's really important that we keep reporting issues and certainly keep up a degree of polite pressure with forum posts to ensure that all our worries will be fixed in a timely manner.

Noop - me 2.. many many attempts different systems planets etc.Yesterday I updated 5.2Gb via Steam.
Now I can't participate in any of the conflict zones on the planets. I arrive and it's empty.
Is it just me?
I may seem rude, but I think this is done on purpose to reduce the load on the serversNoop - me 2.. many many attempts different systems planets etc.
Possibly, I jsut got home .. got ANOTHER? update? (Was there another patch\hotfix post the big 1st patch? ) and now CZs are fine for me .. just finished one.Noop - me 2.. many many attempts different systems planets etc.
He may well be; such companies do exist. Generally how it works is in such companies they'll exploit the developers and generally burn them out. Of course few will be over thirty, because by then you'll have the experience to avoid such jobs and such companies won't hire you because you'll be too expensive - cheaper two junior developers, who've been hired in from abroad before they had a chance to figure out what the local market rate was, than one senior developer who's gotten over the imposters syndrome that is commonplace amongst programmers, is the logic.I'm sure you were, really.
Good.
I personally I don't see why anyone would want to work at a company that can't plan and resource allocate properly to then mandate that I am denied time off or attempt to suspend labour laws because they botched or forced through an MVP.
It's a game. Go play something else if it bothers you that much.
The developers will fix it when they fix it. Screaming that they should have no time off and work till they drop accomplishes nothing and will probably introduce more regressions.
A good manager would know this
