Opening another positivity thread before I have to leave for my weekly cycling 100k.
I know some will not agree. I know some just want to be emotional because they got disappointed. I know EDO didn't serve your expectations. But it matters not, because:
Mad userbase -> mad developers -> mad publishers -> mad game releases
It's the circle of madness. We get s*** content if we add to the circle of madness. We get decent content if we start to act decent and patient. You feel the game is broken, then flood the dev center with error reports. The sheer number of error reports will keep them busy and motivated, I'll promise. Spewing hate threads in the forums, will not. Even though I believe most of the devs won't even frequent the forums, because they need to stay mentally positive and fit.
I get it. Some of the users are younger than me. Some are used to different philosophies than me. Some are outraged, and just want their sweet roll, acting like a baby just because they're getting all emotional. Rage won't change a thing, it will just fuel the circle of madness. And if you add to that circle, all you do is biting your own bottom. You cut your own flesh. That's not only unproductive, it's plain stu***, unless you're a masochist.
For one moment just go into yourself and imagine why and how David Braben, would deliberately destroy his own legacy, and the one thing he dedicated his lifetime to, just to make some of you users mad? Why...the...f...would...he...do...that? I mean, maybe he can answer that personally, but he isn't a masochist, is he?
Don't get me wrong. I favor the Anakin way as well, because I'm often an impatient and stubborn person. I also favor progress, and that general "less talk, more do" attitude. But even I had to learn, on multiple occasions, Obi Wan is the true Master. Stay patient, and supportive to the things you love/like, and you might surprise yourself. I promise the resulting content will be thousand times better than anything you could ever have hoped for.
Leave the circle of madness. And specially to the British users, which I deem are the majority amongst ED players? Do what your culture can do best: Stay calm, and drink a cup of tea. Things will always improve if you leave that circle.
