Has the hysteria died down yet?

I never said they could, I was asking if they'd shut up yet so that I could go back to reading things about Odyssey.
OP has called out people for not reading his post, allow me now to do the same. You are backtracking now saying they CAN hurt the game where before you said they didn't

OK - this has long since turned into a dogpile rather than a conversation. Forcing Travers further back into a defensive corner isn't very nice for anyone.
I don't mind fighting my corner if I firmly believe I'm right. I do genuinely believe the behaviour I've highlighted needs to be called out and challenged.

This is what happens if you cheerlead too hard.
Indeed. As I said, if people did "learn to be quiet", I suspect fixes to the release would be a much longer time coming and the next release we'd get would likely double down on the 'minimum' part of minimum viable product.
Oh believe me there are things I would LOVE to say in a public forum about how stupidity, arrogance and selfishness are destroying society... but it would make me sound intolerant ;)
Intolerant isn't the word that would come to mind. You appear to be doing nothing more than exactly the same thing you are accusing others of doing.

A lot of the people defending it have played more than a few hours, but for whatever reason are willing to overlook the glaring issues with it. My issue is when they then decide that other people are not allowed to be rightfully annoyed at this dumpster fire that FDev have put out there.
My game runs at 60 fps except for the transition screen getting in/out of ship it drops to 30. Other than that, the only bug I've encountered was 2 missions didn't hand in properly, it gave a error message about communicating with the server or something, but then the missions went away from my transactions, so IDK. When i read about people's problems I checked my graphics settings and they were medium, I set them to ultra, performance didn't flinch. So what glaring issues am I ignoring?

Sadly lots but it seems to skip some people, u are one of the lucky ones!!

I admire that. It is also not my intention to "forcing you in a defensive corner" if I speak for myself. And I'm with you when it comes to being annoyed by stupidity.

But in this particular case: wouldn't it help you to just ignore those few stupid posts and focus on the "negative but constructive" and maybe even some positives? I have seen plenty of those.

In any case, to lash out at what people perceive to be an injustice is normal. Let them vent and let out steam (lol) for a while and things will slowly die down.

I mean, you do know the 5 stages of grief yes? We're still at the anger stage now.
The word injustice is being used? Your video game isn't running right for 2 weeks, and that's an "injustice"? That is alot of exaggeration

OP have you watched the most recent Twitch Thursday Elite Dangerous Official Odyssey stream? At least 4 crashes to desktop in less than 1 hour for two FDev employees live while on stream. Numerous other bugs, and not being able to wing up, team up, or share a mission in Odyssey... It was painful to watch. This is why people are leaving the negative reviews and creating unhappy forum threads. FDev choose to release Odyssey in this state just for money, and they deserve all the bad PR from that choice to release.

On that score I'm just saying I don't know, but I am prepared to give Frontier the benefit of the doubt. These decisions were clearly made by the accountants and the senior leadership. It's very likely the people at the bottom of the tree (which is always the most stable part of a tree I might add) knew full well it would be a disaster but were ignored.
You can give FDEV all the benefit you want. Just do it in the context of NOT crapping on people who have legit issues.

Jeebus, can we stop with the, "don't pick on the coders", troupe? It's not happening and smacks of virtue signaling and distraction. Based on what I can glean from your writing in this thread; you don't want that.

There are two really good examples just above actually of comments that any sane person should never reply to "Provide a specific example of what you claim" because they'll only argue with it ask you to keep providing them knowing you'll only be able to find so many, at which time they'll claim to have won.

The other being someone who finds one thing you've said which they can claim directly contradicts something else you've said, undermining your argument.

In my view, sticking to the central argument, not getting drawn away from that, and responding sensibly to genuine criticism is definitely the way forward. I'm actually quite enjoying this banter today :)

I think many debating societies would disagree with you on that one OP. Proving something is kinda important. So is not saying one thing and then doing a U-turn, politicians get hauled over the coals for it all the time.

Is lying/misleading people just or unjust?
If you extend this life in general, and especially to politics where it's common practice then you'd say unjust all the time. In this case though it would be Frontier setting out to commit hara-kiri, and I find that harder to believe. I think they got cocky and fell foul of that.
