I created an account just to gripe about this. I was trying to unlock guardian blueprints, I'm fairly new to this game, but I'm catching on quick. However, the guardian sites, pfft, forget it. I land my ship, start SRVing around, killing sentinels, no problem. Start shooting the blue orbs, cool, so far, so good. Got 5 orbs, couldn't get the last one in time, had to start over. Still OK with that. Get halfway through shooting the blue orbs again, and the game freezes. Now I'm getting a little frustrated, but I reload the game, and try again. Once again, got 5 orbs, but could not for the life of me find the last one. Time ran out, and at this point I'm cussing out loud at my TV screen. So I get in my ship, and attempt to get a better view airborne. I finally get all 6 orbs, and I land my ship and deploy my srv Again, and start blasting the last 4 sentinels, and the game froze again. I have been to colonia and back without issues, but I'm getting seriously angry at the game, and for what? A 10 ly jump increase? Give me a break. that's the end of that. I will never land on another guardian planet. I liked this game because it was relatively calm and peaceful, but for the last 2 hours I've been ready to kick my Xbox right off the table. Either increase the reward, or decrease the pain in my ass, because from where I'm standing, it's not worth the amount of frustration. If I wanted to be angry all the time, I'd play call of duty.
Completely done with anything guardian.

The Guardian sites can be extremely frustrating - I've been through exactly the same thing. We probably all have. There's not many things more frustrating than activating all of the pillars and then having your game crash, or getting the SRV stuck.
What's your timezone? I can fly out there tonight UK time and help you out. I have all of the blueprints so don't worry about me stealing yours

I'm US mountain time, I've been up all night trying to get this, and I'm not entirely sure I'll be ready to try it again any time soon, I'm gonna go run some passenger missions or work on engineering maybe, but this is an Xbox specific forum, right? Add me, my gamertag is Mr Pool#7621 and I'll stay in the general vicinity and who knows, maybe I'll be ready for another go later today. If not, Then within the next few days for sure. I just don't want to get myself so frustrated that I stop playing altogether.
Yeah I forgot to bring my point defense. I have my dbx outfitted for jump distance, no utility mounts, and only one beam laser for activating the guardian Beacon, and I probably could have been more prepared, however, I did manage to nearly complete the task, except my game froze. If only they made a module for preventing the game from crashing. That would be the most useful module in the entire galaxy.

Have you looked for a map of the guardian site? I've found a few and they're really helpful. It took me a turn or two to find all the orbs, but once I did, it was easy to re-log and make the run again.

For what it's worth now, I've found Guardian site grinding goes a lots smoother when a friend tags along. You can concentrate on getting your goodies and your buddy can deal with the sentinels. Good luck with your next attempt. o7
also if you going to do engineering grind. best to do with a buddy cause some unlocks require u to buy tea or cigars or whatever and they only allow 5 at a time. so instead of having to go back in forth u have a friend buy and drop cargo and then buy again. saves u a lot of time.

I'm on pc but feel your pain, xbox friend and fellow CMDR.
I put off guardian stuff for years before having to endure the massive PITA that is guardian unlocks.
You've done well to get through it and remember that everything else is a lot easier.

most of the time the guardian sites crash when you reload your game from main menu while you have active orbs or failed on the orbs.
the freeze comes after reloading and activating any orb.
To avoid freezing you must quit the game (loose connections to server), than simple start the game again, hope this helps to minimize your stress

Guardians are trash. It took me three years to get three modules because it makes me sick to my stomach.
At least get the fsd booster unlocked. Its worth the pain.
