find the power regulator and turn on the station. Tell me where to find this regulator?

mission task: find the power regulator and turn on the station. Tell me where to find this regulator? There is no SRV nearby. Where else could it be?

Он предоставляется вам через того, кто дает миссию. Вы можете найти его в своем инвентаре.

В этой миссии вам нужно самому найти регулятор, а затем вставить его в реактор.

It’s supplied to you via the mission giver. You can find it in your inventory.

This is not accurate. Only some missions provide them. Some Restore missions require you to "Source a Power Regulator for X" which means you have to go find one.

The only two means ive seen so far is to either steal them from a powered station (industrial for example, but you have to sneak around, clone an identity, turn off alarm, then eject the core, hang out in airlock so doors dont close for the 3 minutes, then grab it and run). There seems to be a rare chance to get them from POIs that have powered cargo containers (the ones with like 3 crates in them) but most are unpowered power regs.

Good luck OP (i recommend avoiding the missions that ask you to source your own).

There is often a used power regulator inside a locker in the PWR building, don't know if it works because I am just farming materials in settlements that are powered down, I fly to a station, search in the mission board and then fly to the settlement without getting the mission. Why should I ruin my reputation because I can't complete the mission anyway because of the "failed to connect to mission server"-error..... Thank you Frontier

That will be degraded, so won't work

Restore Power missions are some of the few that hand-in ok for me. You're missing out because the hard thing to collect is the data, and you're missing that ... oops

To the OP : Get a PR from
1) Another station
2) A mission reward
3) A Crash site
4) A mission that gives you one

probably other places. But they are one of the rarer items, so not something I tend to give away on those missions, but up to you :)

the hard thing to collect is the data,
I farm data at the crashed sattelites. If I want to make money I can sell all the drugs I found to an anarchy system, the price is 125000 for each Push or Hush or Lazarus, and I have more than 200 of them, 25mil is just a peanut, but I need the inventory space

You can get one from the crashed SUV outside (the crashed car). Underneath you cut open the power area and take the regulator.
This isn't working for me, and as someone previously stated they are degraded so they don't work. Not sure if this is new or not but I have several degraded power regulators. They go into the housing, but will not fully power the settlement.

There’s a (low probability) chance that they aren’t degraded. The regulator flashes when you pull it out if it is OK.

This mission type should probably be reserved for players who have played for a bit. I'm swimming in PRs now. And know how to get them quickly and on demand. This mission type assumes you have your own. And you can simply take the PR back when you're done (not something everyone thinks of).

Best source for Power Regulators (via relogski ) - pick missions to retrieve something from a crash site
If you get a Distress Call blue mission location marker, most often than not, you will get an Eagle which has 2 hatches that can be cut off (needs a Maverick suit), each with a PR and some circuits.
Check the hatches and relog, without piking the mission target.
Some times you will get 2 PR, other times only one and obviously some time you'll get only degraded.

Other sources for PR: mission rewards, steal them from settlements (turn off alarms, turn of reactor or pick Restore missions that will give PR to power up stations then abandon the missions and keep the PR.

Because that'd be free money, that single component inside all SRVs, is worth more than the SRV itself.
So SRV's are sold to commanders as a loss-leader, to get us all stuck with having to purchase expensive power regulators for them when they break down, in the same way that printers are sold at a loss, with the manufacturer hoping to make the money back on expensive ink / toner...

Well done FD for taking inspiration from real life!

Well, I choose to believe that our SRVs have a non-removable power regulator made by some evil manufacturer. I can live with that
