Elite Stars (ranks)

So there are supposed to be new ranks for each category beyond Elite:

Added 5 new ranks (Elite Stars) for all ship and on-foot ranks

So, does anyone with any Elite rank currently have any indication of progress toward another one? I'm only there with exploration, but my rank shows the same as before, i.e. Elite, with a full progress bar. There is no indication of any stars, or progress towards them.

Is everybody else seeing the same as me, or do I have a bug to report.

if it’s not working, then good. I hope they never fix it.. Ditching 30+ years of lore,imnunerable stories,of a universe that captured the imagination of thousands and not to mention demoting every player who thought that they had reached the zenith(hey it’s what elite means) for the sake of zero extra gameplay and much much more of the same is probably the worst idea since Rian Johnson thought I have great idea of what to do with luke skywalker..

Speculating:

Its Elite x2, x3, x4 etc so would need to be Elite twice over to get 1 star - or it doubles x2, x4, x8 but doubt they'd have done that
It was reset or only counts from release - so past contributions dont count anyway

Exploration would probably be the easiest so someone may get that one first then we'll know...or you will...Im on Console :)

I only have one "like" to give, but take it as a 5 star elite "like". 'kin heretics.

o7 everyone.

Maybe I'm missing something: but I've been searching google for a fair while to find out about the new levels but can't find anything. On a livestream quite a while back, they mentioned a new type of "Elite Prestige" but apparently, the new levels are now actually called 'Elite Stars'? As mentioned, I've been looking online and trying to find out details, but it's been really fruitless.

I can see though, that a lot of players on INARA are levelling theirs up into the new prestige/stars:

  • Does anyone know if we need to do something in the game UI (I couldn't find anything), to earn the new ranks?
  • Or does it just work from now on, automatically, for anyone who's Elite?
  • Also, strongly presuming our previous effort isn't counted or I'd easily be 5 stars Elite exploration and combat, for sure. (I've played over 6k hours). Please correct tme if it's wrong.

I'd appreciate any info you can share.

Talk about a dramatic overreaction.

If you really wanted realism, then the requirements for 'Elite' would constantly scale up as more players reached it. As-is, most people hit Trade elite in about two weeks, which obviously isn't lore-compliant. Not if being Elite is supposed to mean anything.

The trouble is, Elite is tied to significant ingame advantages, so you can't really take that away from 98% of the population.

Prestige ranks is a perfect solution to this problem, showing who is truly 'elite', in the sense actually intended by the lore.

It's not like a prestige rank, or a 5th dan or whatever.. It's like this

If you follow soccer Chelsea won the champions league yesterday, and right now all their fans are celebrating because their team has won the most prestigious club trophy in Europe and for a year they think their team is the best in Europe.
Except all of a sudden EUFA say "Sorry Chelsea you are a Rank D Champions league winner. You need to win it at least as many times as Liverpool or Real Madrid to be considered as good as they are.." So on your trophy, it won't read "Chelsea, Champion league winner. But Chelsea Champions league winner II" On Liverpool's it'll champion league winner V.

You can't get more Elite. it's what the word means.

It has Z E R O extra gameplay.. Z E RO extra Benefit.. No one wanted it.. No one asked for it.. But the cost is not just devastating the whole history of the game but effectively demoting every player who took pride in their achievements.

If people want to be a grind monkey then Korean MMO's are that way ---->

Tbh I am more motivated not to earn a single extra credit or kill anything in case I roll over and end up having to look at the steaming pile of <insert angry expletive) game design that this is.

2bn total or 2bn on top of Elite?

I was hoping it would at least be x2 but if 1.5bn explo data can do i-v in one go then thats just one expedition. I did that going to Sag A and thats only half way across the galaxy.

lol... ONLY half way across the Galaxy.
I have been psyching myself up for weeks - I thought a 5kly trip for materials was something special, and now my achievement is all soiled and dirty lol.
Ah well.. Sag A first then, and then, when I am qualified, on to Hutton for the Anaconda.

Once players start running out of Elite* ranks, they're going to up the Imperial/Federation ranks for an entirely new level of immershun.

King: Chick King, Kingy King, Big King, Burger King, Kinger Surprise
Admiral: Admiral Butterfly, Admiral Insurance, Admiral See No Ships, Admiral Tea

That should everybody REALLY happy. Who needs lore or a story?!

The stain was made years ago when they buffed things so much any noob could start the game and be Elite in a week. Adding these prestige ranks actually fixes things, lore-wise.

Frankly, I wish they'd just bitten the bullet and shifted everyone's ranks instead. Change it so Elite V becomes the new Elite, and anyone who's currently ranked Expert or below gets shifted down to Harmless, and all the other ranks downshifted as well, correspondingly.

That way the ranks actually have a chance of representing people's actual skill, not the fantasy they run in their head.

It'd irritate a few people in the short term, but to be frank, most people who'd care probably barely play the game anymore anyway, so their opinion is easily ignored.
