Power regulator. Where can I get it?

Power regulator. Where can I get it? I know what is possible from the SRV. But if there is none. How to get through the mission? Where do I need to turn on the station? He is not included in his equipment on a mission.

Couple of different sources:
  1. Mission rewards - go to the Terminals' Mission Board in the Concourse and set the filter to "materials" to find one that offers Power Regulators
  2. Scavenging them from Distress Beacon / Impact Site POIs - you need a Detailed Surface Scanner (DSS) to locate them, and a Maverick suit to cut into the panels on the ships / Nav Beacons.
  3. Stealing them from active settlements - this may mark the Regulator as stolen, and might not allow you to use it in upgrades. Not entirely sure, as I've used stolen goods in upgrading my Oppressor.

Have you done the fps tutorial mission?
Sometime there is a broken SRV in a settlement you can crawl under it cut the panel and there will be a power regulator.

Look for "Settlement Raid" missions that offer materials rewards. I have been able to farm power regulators from these type of missions. Other mission types sometimes offer power regulators but the raid missions seem to offer them most often. I have also raided settlements that were not mission targets to get power regulators, but they get the stolen tag and I wasn't able to use them in upgrading my equipment. The stolen ones can be used to power up settlements in "Restore" missions that require you to source a power regulator so the stolen ones are still useful for that.

Those seem to yield only degraded ones now. At least the ones I found. Can someone confirm this? Same with distress call SRVs.

This is how you can just grab one whenever you like. It's useful because you don't need to find a mission or poi to relog at. Guaranteed to get 1 power regulator every time.

I was at a place called Bhardwaj Mineralogic Territory in Barnard's Star last night. There are three of those broken SRVs in that settlement. Probably a great place to repeat.

Must just be unlucky, every vehicle I have scavanged (even at distress beacon / impact sites )have only ever been 'degraded power regulators' same as find in settlement lockers.

Only ones I have got were from mission rewards and those have been rare for me.

Sell them, they won't turn on the power. At least it didn't when I tried in Alpha.

Also, if you cats ever find yourself on a mission where you don't have security credentials and there is no one around to steal them from, you can use an e-breach to bypass the authority scan on the regulator control panel.

I always bring one with me, when I’ve killed all the scavengers I turn on the power because looting the place is easier with the power on, then I take it when I leave 😈
