Just another typical evening playing EDO...

Accept a mission to retrieve the Californian from Locker 7 in Agricultural Processing in an empty settlement. Sounds easy enough..

Travel to the planet.
Find a Terminal, activate it to locate Locker 7. No Locker 7 listed. Exit the Terminal, try again. Ah there it is, but wait, no Mission symbol next to it. Hmmm, let's have a look anyway..
Overload the building entrance, go inside and hunt around inside for Locker 7. Ah, there is it, but it's open and empty?
Ok, maybe I missed something, let's go to the terminal again and have another look. Nope same story.
Ok, no worries, these things happen, I may as well loot the place and get some goodies...
After 20 mins or so of that, I head outside to be attacked by a bunch of scavengers, great.
I suck at FPS, so I jump into my nearby SRV and try to shoot a few in that. I don't get very far, so I decide to do a runner and repair the SRV from a distance.
Shields recharged, good good, let's try running a few of these guys over instead. Ok, that's mildly successful...
Last 2 scavengers left, tucked away where the SRV won't fit, so I'll brave it on foot and try my luck..
From a distance I try sniping a bit, no effect. So I get a bit closer and throw a grenande no effect either..
Finally in frustration I make a run at one of them, chuck another grenade, and shoot him at least 20 times and a couple of melee attacks.
Again no effect, he turns around and bangbang, a couple of shots at me and I'm dead.

Yep that's fair play.

That's 2 hours this evening down the pan, and all I've got time for today. Pretty much a similar story every day since launch, just another failed mission.

Mine went down the pan too! Or was it down the drain? Either way, it was fun.

I took a simple fetch mission. The container of desire was in an Access Level 2 zone, which I found exceedingly unfair as the door in was Level 0. But red tape is red tape. I put my bluest eyes on and wandered through the hard-to-see and not-very-in-your-face barrier. A friendly but armed lab tech promptly escorted me back out.

Okay then, I snuck back in, set the scanner to copy mode and started copying credentials of the lab tech who had meanwhile turned his back and was doing something undescribable to the locker I needed access to. At 90%, he turned around and got somewhat upset with my presence.

I ran.

The entire camp ran after me. Which was fine. I found a hill to hide behind, and spend the next 10 minutes or so ducking out behind it with my trusty old Executioner to take pot shots at the commandos that were milling about out there. A few went down, but I ran out of ammo before they all got offed. I took a long hard look at my situation, went for a stroll, then called a cab home.

Back at home base I dropped the already failed mission and went to call my exploration ship there. 10 minutes later I was out on another exploration trip, feeling happy that my suit or boots or something don't turn "hot" just because I kill a few NPC just doing their jobs.

Awesome evening.

:D S

I have spare power regs. On such missions:
1. enter and exit PWR building, run-run-run by roofs - scavengers incoming ...
2. deal with them
3. go PWR, turn it on
4. find gun controls, turn it off
5. loot all, do mission.
6. take back ur power thing for next run
7. go back

My mission is to unlock the engineer who wants you to be unfriendly to Sirius Corp, so I'm going around getting as many Power Regulator missions as I can from Sirius. Now I have 15 I'm off to upgrade my Maverick to G5 using the Power Regulators Sirius gave me. If that doesn't annoy Sirius I don't know what will ;)

I've tried a few ground missions and I badly suck when AI's are bullet sponges. Although, I wasn't doing too bad, or so I thought, on a mission last night. Killed a few, feeling lucky and just as I turned around, 4 AI spawned directly behind me all crouched and aimed squarely at my head. Insta-death. It was brutal. Don't think I have succeeded with one yet.. but the odds defo seem stacked.

I heard someone mention this requirement. Strange, considering that to get an invite from one of the ship engineers (Marco Qwent) you have to get into the good graces of Sirius.

Today's evening: I wanted to farm some mats for my precious almost-g5 kinetic pistol, got magenta krait, then Orange sidewinder twice on two other missions. Mats, as you can guess, disappeared lol

Frontier thanks you for your service, Comrade Beta-tester.
Frontier would like to remind you comrade, that you also have been recruited for beta testing :D

Don't forget to get a spare!

I just took two scavenging missions at abandoned bases and thought "Great! While I'm there I'll power them up and suck down that sweet, sweet date they've got!"

But I upgraded my Maverick to G5 yesterday, and that used every power regulator I had, which I... now remember.

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men. On a world with a gravity rated at 6 G's.

I visited several stations trying to find G3 suites and weapons. It got me so tired I called it a day. And this is supposed to be gameplay? OMG.

It sounds likely to me you didn't have enough security clearance to find the locker from the terminal. You can't ebreach terminals obviously but you can ebreach your way into the power building and find level 3 workers in there to scan, giving you access to search the base through the terminal. A few bugs around obviously but I don't think this is one of them, haven't failed to find a mission beacon yet here.

Well that sucks, the good news is, you'll get better with practice.

It's cool that skills work like that, humans are amazing

OK... Mission Download (named) data from Data Port 2 in Habitiation, pretty simple. Worth 4 MIs too...
Arrive at base, track all guards and staff, sneak into Hab building, creep around 2 staff, up the stairs... Data Port 1 - Oh Look Cat Meme daata, mine!
Can't find port 2 so check on a console... There is no port 2... Oh well, I didn't need 4 more MIs and upgrade my Tormentor anyway...

Right .. something odd I have seen .. not all habitation equipment is in the habitat 'building'.
I think there might be a canteen in the industrial areas. Check all the buildings if you can't find it.

Cleaned out a settlement, its guards, and the pesky scientists, but killing the power seems to have triggered a load of infantry.

This would be target practice except to facilitate looting I'd parked my trusty SRV by the front door.

All six of them jumped me while trying to get off the fence or box or whatever I hit. I think I killed 1 and then could not get out fast enough.

My kingdom for an SRV eject button.

So if the container you want isn't listed on the terminal there's something else you have to do to find it or is it a bug and it actually doesn't exist? Confused. Had this on two consecutive missions at different locations in the same system. If you do have to profile hacking and on epic sneaks to get the location it seems like an awful lot of effort for very meagre reward to me.

I tried a "find the surveillance device at a deserted settlement" mission which had no threat level indication ad end up in a fire fight with scavengers whilst dashing back to my ship because i was about to suffocate after only being disembarked for a couple of minutes in a maverick suit where the flashlight doesn't work (kinda useful on a pitch black planet).

Another mission i open a container and fall through the floor into some sort of subterranean trench i have to frantically run around and try to jump out of as i'm under attack from base security as the guy was glitching so bad he couldn't complete his scan so i ran off after a couple of minutes.
