The great big Odyssey Screenshots thread

Oh rad, don't know why I didn't think to look in the software. What besides HVEC, what bitrate would you recommend? High defaults to 30mb/s but I have a lot of cpu overheard and hard drive speed to play with (nvme sn550 drive)?
Between 10-20 mbits should be good enough with hevc.

Sweet thank you. I'll play around with it, as Im drinking my first coffee of the day I'm realizing how stupid the 'cpu overhead' comment is on something thats probably going to use my gpu exclusively to encode this video, as it's software for my graphics card lol. Wonder how much frames I'll lose moving to hvec, oh well testing to be done.

A gas giant eclipses the main star (K).

These might not be the most beautiful shots, but I just landed on a hell planet, very close to the star, and the surface was completely charred.
So I thought, I'd take a look at the dark side, since the body is tidally locked and the other side shouldn't be charred then.
Seems it isn't! It's harder to see because dark, but the surface in general looks a lot smoother and the scatter rocks are not blackened.

If this is no coincidence but really because of the planet being tidally locked to the star, that's something I wanted for a long, long time!
Gotta check out more hell planets!

Good one, have seen some of that myself. Seems the temperature really have at least a bit impact on the plan gen 👍
