Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Update 2 | Horizons Update

I don't talk about fixing. But a patch, that actually does not fix a lot of stuff that is listed? How should I interpret that?

And no, angry is something else for me, I can still hop out to my veranda in a few minutes and enjoy a nice steak without too much of a thought about this here.
Ah, okay. I didn't get that.
I didn't have the time to try yet. I'll see later when I got some playtime.

But hey, here's one happy (or a bit happier at least) customer:
FPS MUCH Better. Great job.

:D

Roadmap allegedly comes tomorrow as per David Braben.
Let's wait for that before sharpening the pitchforks.
It's pretty hard not to do that, since the updates which are tangible and known quantities are being released for the sake of having them, and should we think that a roadmap (no matter what's on it) should be more credible?

FDEV won't make it easy for us. Or them, for that matter.

First Odyssey crash-to-desktop while in station concourse. Also it crashed while it was quitting out the game the first time I loaded it up.

If I was to guess they are rushing so hard in plugging all the leaks and puting out fires they are making all new holes and conflagrations.

No, you're not chill, you're hot in the opposite direction ;)

Chill people don't need to match criticism post-for-post with defense.
Nah. I just don't get the attitude, to be honest.
I don't think there's anything to defend. They're all adult people who can defend themselves if need be.

This roadmap is two years too late.
And this I can agree on.
Proper communication in general is.

I would take those "it runs fine for me" with a massive pinch of salt - without cold hard facts about their hardware and framerates at least - there's players for whom 15fps is "okay". 'Nuff said.
Aye, it's massively subjective. The game is 'playable' for me, but then I'm not accessing most of the Odysee legs content and I can't really tell the difference in anything over 30fps.

Praise at this stage, however, feels like thanking the manufacturer because the toaster merely cremates your toast and sets the smoke alarm off instead of burning your house down.

On my lower end machine, I gained around 10fps, going from usually 30 in Odyssey environments to 40. In settlements it went from usually 25-30 up to 30-40. I did notice active mining equipment caused a drop of at least 10fps which recovered only after stepping away and looking away until it unloaded. Alas, I have been crashing several times already in different situations; should look into that ASAP. I always get to send a crash report, so that should help, I guess.

Sincere question - is your praise based on the patch notes or your experience actually playing Odyssey post-patch?
A bit of both! The list of fixes and adjustments is pretty swell, but I also booted it up to check out the UI adjustments. Really love that I can click and hold bookmarks to plan a route to them now. And my rig can now REACH 60fps in stations with a bit of drops; stations which would otherwise stay at the 30-50fps range. I have not gone to a settlement yet, but it's next on my todo as they've noted improvements there.

The changes implemented today as part of this patch by and large - I would speculate - have been in development for longer than the last couple of weeks since launch. The change list reads like a list of items that were discovered internally during the internal development and QA process.

- I'd therefore expect any major changes arising from the feedback threads not to be in this release.

We will get a new roadmap for that in July.
The roadmap right now:

Like I said in another post, it's more of a motorway than a road map. The M25 that goes around and around and around and around.........

For those who may not know, the M25 is a motorway that encircles London.

I still don't have the pioneer suit. Will there be any compansation soon? or what? Sent a ticket and it didn't do a thing but wanting me to post it on issue tracker and still no luck after a week or so.
