First.
It is not a simulator or tries to be.
I do love Death Stranding.
The character gets tired, stamina for running, climbing, jumping, etc.
You can load stuff, yes cargo.
Why is this important?
Well, I used to work for Clark and I was collecting Mosquitos, yes, we would go to different places in an ATV and collect mosquitos, put them in containers and bring them back to the laboratory.
See, that's a real life game play.
Have a Laboratory module in the ship and have sample to have an expiration, like in real life.
Have areas where you can go only WALKING.
Death stranding, does a similar gameplay when you deliver antibiotics.
Because is space, add limits to the consumption of oxygen and have curves for it, running, jumping, sprinting, uses more oxygen.
Add walking and slow walking, save oxygen. Include the breathing sounds, think Gravity or The Expanse when they loose oxygen.
Look at The Expanse for combat realism in space.
Geology.
Death stranding has many real life Geological features. And yes, Planets in Space have Erosion, and different processes too.
Say, like real life, have the vegetation in the valley of a canyon, only accessible by foot, so you park your SVR and then walk, all that against the clock because you are counting your oxygen, you can bring extra oxygen and drop the empty tanks in the way back, maybe biological samples are heavy, maybe you bring power tools, maybe there are threats, like hard to climb areas, all that with a timer counting your oxygen and deterioration of your samples.
Yes.
Death Stranding is a walking simulator and it is like Elite, has its own charm and Frontier should look at it for inspiration.
