Not really. Performance wise in VR mine's fine on foot. In fact in ship has a lower frame rate than on foot....for me. So when they iron out the problems VR on foot shouldn't be a problem.
Shiny...They promised "a thread of what we want for VR" and will post a forum post, they're asking for about a week time...
That's the virtual flat screen, though, right? -Have you tried switching to the third person cameram, which is in actual VR? (defaulted to ctrl+alt+space for me)Performance wise in VR mine's fine on foot.
I have played very little ED since the announcement was made that VR support was being removed in EDO out of a sense of sheer frustration with Frontier.
It was removed. Every other version of the game fully supports it ODY does not... It was removed. It was never announced as removed, it was announced as not being there for launch. Stark difference

Grasping at straws are you? I guess MSFS removed VR too since FSX had it, Xplane had it, etc.... Just like MSFS, you will get it on foot when they prepare it. Plus it is still in Odyssey just not on foot while in first person, as such not removed; Instead, announced as not being available at launch.
Please, stop arguing semantics, we had this discussion many times over already. The end result is that you don't have VR on foot, and if it weren't for our backlash on social media you wouldn't have VR support in Odyssey AT ALL. If you don't believe me, go to the post which unveiled odyssey, and subsequent Arthur Tolmie posts, which said "Odyssey will not be VR compatible at launch, but Horizons will remain VR compatible". So yeah they REMOVED VR and added it BACK after a backlash.
Given your attitude, I won't quote it for you, you can find it yourself. All I can say is simply, you're incorrect.Nothing about ship and SRV use was changing and it was stated again AT LAUNCH if you bother to go back and actually read from the initial information from Odyssey. People who use VR (which yes, does include me) are a minority in the gaming world right now, instead of being happy that it is even being worked on, and even said that it would be coming just not at launch, are making everyone look like a bunch of entitled brats.
Nope not grasping at straws. just using the literal deffinition of the words that I put in the first post. VR is not mentioned in EDO features. the use of VR in EDO is limited to the features that have been available in ED since the launch of the game while VR is not usable in the new features of the game that ODY introduced. Hence it seems to me that in the new version of the game that VR support has been removed. see... like I said the litteral meaning of the words that I chose to use in my original post... I am not splitting straws nor am I reaching, nor am I being pendantic, ironic, obstinate, hyperbolic, reactionary, defensive, spoiled, argumentative, or in the parlayence of the forums, salty. I litterally said exactly what I meant weather you agree or not. So please stop ascribing motivations to me that are not in fact true. I grasped at nothing.Grasping at straws are you? Not really lucky - just comparing apples with oranges, which makes the point rather lacking in the pointiness department. What is rendered for display on the virtual screen is a single, relatively small in pixel count, viewport, subsequently drawn onto a single rectangle in two-viewport VR (which doesn't take much to render, even at high resolution); And your actual VR in-ship experience is two proper larger bitmap viewports. -It is a given that the former will produce a higher frame rate. No, that's going to virtual screen VR on foot... 90fps. I do have a beast of a Pc though. The main point was on foot was faster than in ship. I realise I'm lucky.
