Ci¬G's finances certainly aren't as rosy as many would imagine. There seems to be a hint of desperation recently with the sheer amount of events and ship sales...it seems hardly a month goes past now before there's another push to the next one. They're concentrating on moving more ships into the production line too...potential (according to Ci¬G's mentality anyway) money spinners like the long awaited BMM and the Crusader Ares fighters, whilst the continued development of core tech and gamplay content is at an all time low, even by Ci¬G's standards. On the one hand, i wouldn't put it past them.
On the other hand, there is so much of that going on then i can only believe CIG would have been out of money a long time ago if they did.
On the other other hand, maybe that's why CIG never let up on the ship sales and marketing. Maybe their financials are in a much worse situation than even skeptics can guess at.
I think they're struggling along between ship sales if I'm honest...the company itself is fine and dandy... which seems to be the primary focus of the management, the actual game development, not so much.
