State of the Game

Your selective feedback has raised my suspicions,
that you may be interested in some specific, effective type of diplomacy only.
One that usually is executed AFTER regular diplomacy fails.
Nay good sir, quite the opposite!

It would warm the cockles of my heart if FDev had allowed us to utilize the cut and thrust of offer and counter-offer to resolve our disputes. Sadly, despite the promises of their advertising, Odyssey only allows us to utilize kinetic diplomacy.

You see it wrong.

You always have a choice, that's diplomacy too.
Do you use the shotgun, the rocket launcher rather zap 'em?

You can also explain the reasons for your decisions to the resulting silenced adversary. They will listen without so much as raising an eyebrow. If that's not a good start for a diplomatic solution, i don't know.

From my experience as a diplomat. When you enter someone's hab uninvited to steal his cat meme and opinion poll, they are quite angry. Usually they pull a gun and start shooting.
So the best way to conduct diplomacy is to shoot first. However, to prevent it to be simple murder, you have to politely state your intention first, that's the real diplomacy part.

One good thing if you shoot first, they don't have their shield yet, and your arguments are much more impactful.

It's quite confusing when you are new, but eventually it works fine.

OK, back to my Discord server. I've made my point. :)

Fits perfectly if you know what movie is it from.

I think it's all in the definition.
That I shoot first most of the time is called "de-escalation" of the situation. Only if all participants are calm and listening you can go to part two, the debate where you can state your arguments for the premise you established earlier.

I call the time between shooting first and their rising if a shield the "elevator pitch" for your premise.

There are no conflict when everyone is dead. The pinnacle of diplomacy.

If you zap them again they might raise an eyebrow. That and poop their pants, but nobody got far at diplomacy by pooping their pants, especially not the muricans.

On a xenophobic note, where is angry Antz? I miss his random upside-down input.
