Okay, and how many hours / days / weeks do I need to spend looking for that one bacterium if there is only 1 biological signal (for example) on the planet?
I dont tell thst game is sucks - but forcing players to spend so much time finding materials should have reasonable limits or alternatives or interesting gameplay ways of such a search. But they are missing, that's the trouble.
Oh I don't disagree, but for the bacterial signals don't bother with the SRV. Even in the turret you're at such a shallow angle to the ground it's hard to spot them. Hop in the ship, point the nose 45° downwards and use your vertical thrusters to sort of strafe along. You'll cover much more ground much faster. The bacterium are always (so far for me anyway) on flat surfaces and can be scattered way far apart. Find one, land, hop out on foot, take back off. I can make a vid if you'd like.

There's a big diamond-shaped bleb of it in this image that I actually didn't see from the SRV. I did see it when I was playing around with the debug cam watching my ship land, so was able to saunter up to it.

Exactly, and that's even a relatively obvious one against the background. Sometimes you get unlucky and the ground is virtually the same color as the bacteria.

This is a good start with all the new bio stuff. You have to fly low < 100 meters and slow to give time to render.
Fdev needs to give you a radar type display to help guide you to bio locations.
I spending way too much time looking, it’s normal to spend over 30 minutes searching.

Haven't played more than a couple of hours since before the Fleet Carriers were released and finally thought I would try odyssey, since I got it for "free" being an Alpha backer. I found I was 1.5k out from the bubble and remembered I was at HIP3301 to fill up with Tellurium...

Whole planet was blue for Geo... but no POIs in the side panel.... went down low... saw nothing, descended out of SC, blue disappeared... glided down ... saw nothing... went up again, came down in another place... nothing again.. did it again for good measure... saw nothing.

There is a rule that states a sign of madness is repeating something multiple times and expecting a different outcome....

Am I going mad?

Should I just dump Odyssey and go back to the sanity that is Horizons?
