What would you say is the best rank to get your rank up or give the most points towards your rank with the Federation.

1. Exploring and system scanning ?

2. Mining?

3. Bounty hunting?

4. Data Deliveries?

5. Cargo deliveries?


I am really trying to nail down which one is faster. I have 1 rank to go before the corvette is released to me but my lord getting out of POST COMMANDER is taking forever. I am truly looking for good advice here on how to speed up this process. Thank you!

The content of the mission contributes nothing to your rank grind, only the amount of Rep you are rewarded. So, you want as much mission throughput as possible, this means small one trip deliveries and data missions. Anything else is just poor return for time invested. You can try stacking them for extra effect, but there's a point where the number of interdictors becomes more of a hassle than the stacking benefit is worth.

You only get federation rank by doing missions, so you get zero rank for 1, 2, 3 and 5 unless there are missions attached, like pirate massacre missions, passenger site seeing missions, etc.

The best way to get rank has been by doing rescue missions from the burning stations, but there are none at the moment. Check every Thursday to see if there are any new ones. You can complete about 100 missions an hour from the burning stations and corresponding rescue ships.

Yeah, what those guys said. You have to do missions for factions aligned with your Superpower (so Fed factions for Federal rank), and lots of them, and always choose the reward with the most REP (like REP++ or REP++++, the more the better).

The only thing that counts towards your Fed or other ranks is "REP". The only REP that counts in your Journey to Admiral is rep form doing any and all mission's that are given by FEDERAL broker's. Doing any missions for any other but the Feds will have a negative impact on your endeavor.

Thus look at doing only missions from federal broker's and choose the ones with the highest rep available. They don't always pay the best, but it's the rep you need for ranking up. Same goes when your endeavor to the position of King.

Does killing pirates in a given system controlled by a fed faction give rep when u cash in bountys at their local asset?

Ditto. Sometimes there wouldn't be any donation missions available, so I'd complete other missions and come back and then buy up all the donation missions I could. The rep 'grind' really wasn't that bad.

For the Federation rank, I mainly did Base Scanning,
Which also gave me the best credits for when I unlocked the corvette,
Even tho most modules from the Anaconda fitted the Corvette.

Wasn`t picky if the mission was a bit fruity...

Just about all the methods used in the past that are mentioned above don't work anymore. There are only a couple of methods left for fast ranking. One is the rescue missions from burning stations, assuming that the local factions don't go independent again like they did last time. This method is probably the fastest of all time. Unfortunately. the burning stations only happen occasionally, so you have to check for them every Thursday and capitalise while you can. After that, your best hope is to find the stations that are in ideal locations relative to nearby ones so that you get lots of missions from one to the other or other high spawning of particular types of missions. There have been some mentioned recently, so do a Google search for fast federation/empire ranking. Use the time filter to get only links for the last 6 months.

High rep passenger missions in a medium sized ship. I made tonnes of cash and rep by stacking 4 tourist missions at a time into my asp explorer. Mostly it's a quick fly there, scan the tourist beacon then back in time for tea.. :). Don't bother with any of the passengers additional demands and make sure you're not carrying illegal passengers though...

This isn't quite true.

If you're doing a delivery mission from a non-Federal faction but the delivery target is a Federal faction, you will get Federal rep from it because you get some from the mission giver and some from the delivery target.

The time im super close to get one of these high ranks those missions go away LOL!
