So, there's never been a good movie from a game. But that means the first good one has yet to be made! Imagine seeing all your ships on the big screen! Of course, the interiors would be a bit screwed up. But we'd be able to show some rugged Krait Mk2 pilot making himself a cup of coffee.

But if they make a movie with interiors before putting them in game...maybe they can introduce a lore explanation for why pilots just disappear into a blue circle and it could work...would need a darn good storyline though and thats probably whats holding it up, although the bit after the end credits could have a mention of Raxxla just to wind us all up.
I have often thought about trying to do a video version of 'The Dark Wheel' using in-game footage.
Obviously it wouldn't be 100% as per the novella, (no original ships, no Tinosla Orbital graveyard, no aliens, etc...) but I'm sure that the basic story line could be used, in an updated way.
Once I have Odyssey on PS4 I may try it, assuming that it is actually playable and not too buggy.

Frontier may be rubbish at making games (yes I'm being hyperbolic for effect), but they make AMAZING video clips!
Write it, pitch it. Lot's of people are need of good scripts. Here is one thing. A good ED movie would probably be a good non-branded movie. The movie studio will like that because they don't have to pay Frontier.
Remember when Square which was famous for RPGs with great stories and FMV clips decided to make a movie?

I mean yes, been thinking about that too but if they would do this it would need a high budget for actors, a big amount of CGI, sets, ... So if you want to gain profit you will need to reach a bigger audience and make the movie comprehendable for non-Elite players. So a lot of lore-accuracy would be given up.
