It is quite balmy. Its excellent garden weather because we get a bit too hot and then have a day or so of rain.

I hear TX is a bit rainy right now :D Whats it like being British with rain and grey?

We are in complete agreement. Jelly and cold custard are perfectly acceptable in this setting, and a trifle just isn't a trifle without sherry!

However, rice pudding and particularly tapioca, no matter the amount of sherry, make me turn green.

No kidding! My backyard has alligators in it (at least they'd enjoy it out there now), what used to be a pond now looks more like a lake and if it weren't for the last half a week or so I wouldn't remember that the sky had any color other than grey.

Is it really like that all the time over there? <shudder>

Yes pretty much. I live in France now but when I was in the UK it was always like that. The one bit of excitement came just before I left as we started getting very odd weather- although I missed it we had a funnel cloud over our local garden centre- we took this as an omen and sacrificed more people to protect the harvests.
