I wouldn't have bought Odyssey if I knew it was a this early in development..
But you knew that..

Any word on Smear Campaigns? I know it's been said they are in the game but as I say "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". I find it an extraordinary claim they are in the game as I can find no evidence of anyone finding them.!Greetings Commanders!
At approximately 07:00 UTC / 08:00 BST today, we have deployed 'Update 4' to address a number of issues and implement some quality tweaks and improvements to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey.
Patch notes reflecting such can be found down below for you.
As always - A huge 'thank you' for your continued support and feedback, as we continue working hard to improve the Elite Dangerous player experience.
Heads up - I'm going to get coffee, do a few things to start my day (patch notes came first before those things haha!!) THEN, I'll be back. Bear with me, Commanders o7
This sounds like an improvement, but it's a bit disappointing to look at the Rendering bug fixes week after week and only see these kinds of workarounds to the rendering issues instead of the engine devs addressing the root cause.
- Skybox and Galaxy Background has been updated to be more vibrant, and to closer match Horizons.
It's still 15 too many.I wanted to post this 40 times!

My sentiments also - while I'm a complete noob in the field I can't shake the feeling that FDev are attempting to fix the symptoms rather than the root cause. This sounds like an improvement, but it's a bit disappointing to look at the Rendering bug fixes week after week and only see these kinds of workarounds to the rendering issues instead of the engine devs addressing the root cause.
The problem isn't the brightness or darkness of individual components of the scene, it's an incorrect rendering pipeline that is losing information about bright/dark light. Think of it like using a camera in the wrong exposure setting (ISO/shutter speed); but in this case it's losing information both in underexposed and overexposed cases (likely incorrect HDR).
Good job. Keep it up.Update notes during server downtime, who dis?
