State of the Game

Meanwhile...

WhiteShadow is catching up on page 427 of the thread! Almost there!

Considering that silence can be seen as a diplomatic approach to some situations,

...

i do think it would be awesome if they released a gun called Diplomacy only at some tech broker that you unlock after getting him some stupid amount of materials and completed missions... and you only get one and if you die, you have to do it all over again to get another.

And when you are ready to fire it, it audibly says "Diplomacy Mode Ready" , "Commencing Negotiations", and when you kill the guy "Diplomacy Successful"
The other player would see these as messages (and perhaps audibly): "Prepare for Diplomacy" or "Sending Diplomatic Terms"

that would be so awesome.

And the patch notes are there
I coincidentally checked the moment they were posted and was first on commenting! Ha! :D

Well, that's a lot of fixes I didn't know I needed. I guess it's a good thing for whoever was affected, but meh, that's terrifyingly lacklustre.

Opinion Polls reduced from 40 to 20 is a slam dunk though. As an experienced pollster, I like to think that my reported experience, coupled to that of all other members of the Tourism Board did contribute to make life a lot easier for the vast majority of players who haven't jumped through that hoop yet.

i find it interesting how happy so many are to see such huge and frequent patches to things that shouldn't have needed patches in the first place.

it's almost like they dont understand how products and software is supposed to work. they're just trained to think this is the way it's supposed to be.

sheeple.
Its hard for some to get to the level where you are, and stay there.

i really hope they monkey paw the smear campaign when they finally implement it to troll the 12 people who are super into wanting it in the game.

something like you have to goto a base and talk to every npc, to tell them some gossip about the faction you're smearing. But people have a short memory, so you have to do it within a timer to reach critical gossip mass to accomplish the smear. You then have to do this in every station in the system to accomplish the mission.

I think FD crossed the bridge of "how things are supposed to work" a bit ago.

I just wish they wouldn't have taken off and nuked the bridge from orbit afterwards. ;)

Getting dangerously on topic here. Have a cat:

With Zac chatting with devs and confirming that according to them they are available, but rare/tied to conditions, I'll be a little disappointed if it's just a bug or bad drop rate. I don't mind one engie being locked away (though I'd love audio masking and quieter footsteps) and a little community puzzle. Once we break it, it'll be trivial, so it's fun to see and take part in the attempts at station types, faction states, etc.

or ... you have to become allied with the faction you're smearing, then take a mission for them and kill the wrong people (regardless of what mission it was), get caught by the cops and sent to prison. Only then do you succeed in the smear campaign mission. The Payment however is satisfaction in knowing you smeared them good, because monetarily, you can't be connected to the other faction and so wont be getting paid. Also, the faction that hired you doesn't do business with doublecrossing liars.

teaching the player a valuable lesson in ethics and life in general.
