🐾 Planet Zoo: Africa Pack arriving 22 June 🐾

Something seems to be off with my vision, when nobody addressed yet that the babies look extremly small... ^^
I mentioned this on Reddit cause someone said the same.

It's because of how PZ does maturation. There are only two life stages: young and adult. Young is split depending on each species, some are actually what you would consider to be babies, like the above Southern white rhino. Others are really closer to juvenile animals. Sort of a random inconsistency, but not game breaking. They look about the right size to me, but if they want to scale them up a bit, I wouldn't complain.

Although, @SalamAnders is right, now that I take a closer look. The size isn't a huge issue, but the actual body is. The head should definitely be a bit large, and it's fine if they want a newborn over a juvenile, but if they want a newborn, it shouldn't have a pronounced horn.

Now that I take a closer look at, I'm a bit let down on the effort here. Everything else was so good

Real baby white rhinos kind of look like they are out of proportions. The in-game ones just look like tiny adults. A shame when the grown up model is really good.
With the penguins it is clear to see they looked into how the juveniles are different from the adults, it doesn't really feel like the case with the rhinos to be honest.

Well, now that post-release model changes aren't out of the question, we can always hope. Ugh, onto the list it goes ✍️

I had a better pic yet showing a really small baby white rhino but wouldn’t post. Even black and Indian rhino are surprisingly much smaller as newborns then I thought.

The issue isn't so much the size itself. More that they seem to have based the size on a newborn, but the model on a more juvenile aged individual.

Edit: The easiest fix would probably be to make it a bit larger, then it might fit a juvenile rhino. The more complicated, but perhaps more charming fix would be to change the model so it looked like a newborn.

Yeah, I don't know... if it is a newborn the proportions aren't right, if it's a juvenile the size.
Again no Bintuwrong level, but in quality not as good as the african penguin. So far the penguin is the only one I'd call top notch, the others range between good and okay - most okay, tbh.
Lets see how they look in game

Here's how I would rank the animals on a scale of 1-10 now that we've seen them all:

Meerkat: 10/10
Fennec fox: 8/10, make the tail a bit less bushy and add just a tint of white/pink to the ears and you're at a 10/10. If there aren't lighter fur variations however, this will fall to like a 6/10
African penguin: 10/10
Sacred scarab beetle: 10/10
Southern white rhino: 4/10. The adult is perfect, but the baby is a bit lazy, and that tanks the score.

I don't know about yall, but I like it and I think the baby looks pretty accurate (The two images are from the North Carolina Zoo)

To me your photos prove even more that the baby is too small for the stage that's in, if you look at the horns and proportions. The real baby in the photo would reach moms elbow while tte pz one would only reach the knee. The adult even stands on lower ground than the baby in the front.

Now that I can agree with, I think everythings fine just that it needs to be a bit bigger

I actually like them being that small. When I have them I’ll just pretend newborn as seen in the above pics and if you google newborn white rhino they are smaller then I thought. I know they are juvenile in planet zoo which in that case the system isn’t very accurate already especially when I think of a juvenile male lion which starts the makings of a mane in some phases.
