If there was synthetic meat
There very soon will be according to one of the science programs on BBC Radio 4 a week or two ago.
Meat is currently being 'grown' in a laboratory - from DNA taken from prized 'flavourful' animals. Grown using the same 'food' animals convert to tasty meat.

Allegedly, once they can introduce good texture to their product, it could be on our menu very soon!

Sorry, bringing factual stuff here 😭

I absolutely understand reasons behind going vege.
I feel bad about eating animals occasionally.
If there was synthetic meat, even twice or whatever factor more expensive then "animal sourced" and it would taste similar enough, I would choose it as long as I could afford it.

But one of basic truths about life we need to learn as soon as possible,
is that the real problem with choices in life is not really the option that we choose,
it's that we have to accept that we are leaving something behind, removing from our life, sometimes forever without option for a "rollback", ever.

That said, I don't really think that every vege is delusional because he likes "vege bacon", it was exaggeration naturally.

But some seem to have problem with the very nature of choice I mentioned above.
actually there have been great improvements, tesco even do a plant-based burger I would happily pass off as meat. (as it happens, disguising or displaying foods as other foods is something that goes back to Greece and probably further) Oh and sausages can be made out of all sorts of things, pork and other meats are just sausage preferences

I am sure there are delicious vege sausages etc,
And I was a bit "extremizing" my point of view for the sake of bashing effectiveness.

naming/forming/serving your vege dishes like this, is exactly "trying to go forward, but holding in the past clingingly" part of vegetarianism that is confusing me.
(aka: NOT accepting that choice is about LOSING something even more then about gaining)

Or the Ford "Ka"?
Ford KA doesn't mean anything in french. KA is pronounced the same than "K" (the letter). My friend have a Ford KA^^.

The issue was with some phones years ago. Samsung or something. It was called "the Q". Sadly, in french, Q have the same pronunciation than our word for "a***" (cul).
So you can imagine the issue when the marketing team came proudly with stuff like "don't go anywhere without your Q", or "always have a Q in your pocket".

I really would have no problem with that.

I still get the meat i want to eat, no animal is harmed and as a bonus i can have the fat texture exactly as I like.

Seems like a win/win?

I fully agree.I can't wait for vat grown meat. No animal being hurt, no need for hormones and all the s*** they give to the animal. No "mad cow" disease because we thought cannibals cow were a good thing.
Also, no more pollution from large quantities of poop and stuff. Plus it take less room to "grow".

Is that like losing FPS, planetary detail, missions, and actually being able to see anything other than darkness for the sake of following the Holy Scriptures of the Great Lord Braben and the Lore of the Void?

I'll get me coat....
