State of the Game

I am sure there are delicious vege sausages etc,
And I was a bit "extremizing" my point of view for the sake of bashing effectiveness.

Sitll
naming/forming/serving your vege dishes like this, is exactly "trying to go forward, but holding in the past clingingly" part of vegetarianism that is confusing me.
(aka: accepting that choice is about LOSING something even more then about gaining)
not entirely sure why deciding not to eat animals has to be some sort of penitent mission where all concepts of flavour have to be abandoned because they resemble meat... If I want a veggie bacon sandwich, then, I shall! you can have one too if you want, or you can eat pig bacon. or tuna sushi or a sausage roll made with what is euphemistically called sausage meat (never scrutinise the makings of sausages)

I really would have no problem with that.

I still get the meat i want to eat, no animal is harmed and as a bonus i can have the fat texture exactly as I like.

Seems like a win/win?
I fully agree.I can't wait for vat grown meat. No animal being hurt, no need for hormones and all the s*** they give to the animal. No "mad cow" disease because we thought cannibals cow were a good thing.
Also, no more pollution from large quantities of poop and stuff. Plus it take less room to "grow".
In a nutshell...
No 'guilt' (obviously) because it was never an actual animal, no pollution, more efficient at turning 'food' to meat so more crops can be grown for human consumption, and a guaranteed quality.

Currently expensive, but once scaled up is considered to end up costing less than the 'finest' produce. (in every way!)

And it may be "transportable" as a technology to moon bases etc. Cattle would get a real problem there.

Of course you CAN!

And I can have my opinion WHY vegetarians are clinging on eating vege BURGERS, BACON and SAUSAGES.

It's the freedom I will fight for.

To be vegetarian
and
to bash vegetarians.

:sneaky:

Last time I checked it was more of a curiosity then the ACTUAL alternative (as: affordable and available in a NEAR future)
But my knowledge there might be outdated.
the protein growing thing is fascinating, sadly still a tad too expensive for humble mortal funding, but what has actually taken off massively is using pea proteins, which for some reason can really emulate meat quite well, a lot of what people think of as meat taste is actually in the textures, also in fat melting temperatures.

Perfectly fine :)

Everyone should be free to enjoy the food they like.

(And I know what's in some sausages ;))
