Game Discussions What Multicrew could have been if we had ship interiors

Well, sort of :) Pulsar: Lost Colony is officially out of early access. It has both singleplayer/offline mode and multiplayer 5 ppl coop. And it has a VR version. Worth checking out while we wait for Odyssey to get fixed. Hey @VR Golgot IDK if you reviewed it yet, now's the time probably.

God I love a bit of Pulsar, but could never get along with the VR build. (HMD relative only, and menu / UIs felt pretty wrong). Was early in my VR days though so might be able to get more out of it now.

(Have asked them to give VR some more love on their roadmap ;))

Just play X4, and you'll see how cool ship interiors and multicrew can be.
It's the little things sometimes.
X4 is on my no-go list because, you guessed it - VR support or lack thereof, and Egosoft's hissy fit about it, too. I mean, sure, take your most universally hated game, X-Rebirth, release it as a standalone release and full-priced, remove original Rebirth campaign and be angry that people didn't buy your most universally hated game again, that's kinda the same level of silliness as "you will get bored running inside your ship, but not outside your ship" (c) :)

I like Rebirth VR (especially motion controls) but dev getting salty about VR turnover or lack thereof was... silly. I mean, if they added VR to X3 it would sell much better, I'm sure.

I understand but claiming X4 is Rebirth is simply wrong. Like really.
I didn't know X4 didn't have VR. I guess I was mistaken because of rebirth.

But yeah, my point still stand that multicrew and ship interior can be awesome when done right.

In regards to ED, I agree with the title. FDev has made too many strategic decisions that were bad and shortsighted for me to play any more. I may have a couple of hours logged and played since fleet carriers were rolled out. I was an early access player and recall from beta-1 to Horizons, "you" did not have a seat in the captain's chair; it was empty until HoloMe was introduced around the time Horizon's came out.

FDev staked everything on the progen Milky Way which is the main reason I bought it over SC years ago (however, Spaceengine has arguably a better version plus progen versions of every other galaxy we know about).
I've asked many times on these forums why FDev won't, as a minimum, put butts in the empty seats on ships with two or more copilot seats. It doesn't even register (immersion to the devs is not a big concern imho). ED is a great game for players who only need to fly their ships all alone. Even the SLF pilots are just 2D images.
I know nearly nothing about Odyssey. What I read and watch on video's don't impress me enough to return to ED atm. Other games are scratching my itch for space games (X4, ME, etc.) and I continuously watch for other new games coming out.

OK rant over. Have a nice day

Oo, @VR StarLightPL never know…

We’d like to do some more with VR, but we can’t make any guarantees at this time since we’re waiting for some of the plugins to get further along. However, we are looking into some smaller tweaks for the short term. We hope to have more to say on that soon. We’ll update the roadmap on our website when we decide on a plan!

Wat?

I'd be happy to start with consistently working multicrew for what we've already got, before adding any more layers.

Thanks for sharing - checking it out!

It is still, honestly baffling to me, why crew don't appear in seats or why there isn't a better crew system for ships like the 'conda which in FDs own lore need 50 people just to take off.
