Perhaps you shouldn't set up your goal too high ? Remember to have fun. It's a game. But your example is different - you have all the time in the world to gather those obelisk data. You can actually play the game, travel around and gather them, doing other things to spice things up - even if it takes you much longer. It's your choice how you'll do it.
With this kind of CG - you don't have the luxury of taking your time - it's time sensitive and competitive, so relogging is your only realistic option if you want to participate. That's huge difference there.
Low grav world only, and you'll still need to relog to have the stuff respawn. Can you pick up artifact with collector limpets? and not even have to land your ship?
The fact that I don't need to participate in this CG is beside the point.Perhaps you shouldn't set up your goal too high ? Remember to have fun. It's a game.
Also, if it's too much, you can skip it. You don't need to participate in the CG.
That what I was told numerous time when I brought the issue about mat grinding and relogging. I fully agree mind you, it's silly.
But I was just saying that maybe we should have seen it coming a long time ago ? It's hardly a new issue. The problem has been there for years. I'll continue doing what I always did : relogging. For the people who said it was wrong, and refused to discuss about the underlying problem (since accoridng to them it was fine), you can either join the club or stand on the hill you chose to die on. It's all the same to me.
Agreed. But it's not the first time we had the problem. May I remind you of the relatively recent "billions credits CG" ?That's just horrible design.
Yes, I remember, but one such CG could have been an oversight, and I treated it as a mistake. I'm not sure now.Agreed. But it's not the first time we had the problem. May I remind you of the relatively recent "billions credits CG" ?
Oh, that hurt.In other news.... Today a man shouted at a cloud.
I like this for a number of reasons, first of all it's a creative way to play the game, secondly it's good to see an actual use for a viper 4I just use my Viper IV to pick the artifacts off the ground directly. Ten at the ancient ruin and another six at the Guardian site then back to the Megaships. Then I hop into the asteroid station and maybe do some salvaging or fetch missions if they have material to offer that I want for a change of pace. Then I can do repeat runs, if I feel like it.
<pedant>That's debatable on how much time anyone has on their hands possibly</pedant> but even if it's only reasonably achievable by relogging then that ain't cool. The target can only be obtained via relogging. Same with other cgs, they are set in a way any other approach literally does not work.
No, I mean that even if we all had 24/7 available it still wouldn't work. It's 'relog and grab in 20s' Vs 'try to find a new base somewhere'. Some of these literally require the community to relog.<pedant>That's debatable on how much time anyone has on their hands possibly</pedant> but even if it's only reasonably achievable by relogging then that ain't cool.
I stand corrected. There needs to be a resolution to the disconnect that is plainly evident where FDev must think that their totals are 'legitimately' achievable based on, I imagine, their gameplay stats and data, but without realizing that those numbers are based on relogging, either that or you are correct, and FDev have just accepted that relogging is a thing and are just going with it now.No, I mean that even if we all had 24/7 available it still wouldn't work. And yes, I agree. It ain't cool.
That's quite literally as close to the opposite of objective truths you can get, but I hope it made you feel better having said it.Relogging is as deep as ED gameplay gets.

But regardless of how shallow it may or may not be, relogging is still the most shallow part of the game. Not the opposite.Unfortunately no, it’s really not that far from the truth. It really is quite shallow.
I don't really agree in all points but for the word "Nerd-Karen" a likeBut regardless of how shallow it may or may not be, relogging is still the most shallow part of the game. Not the opposite.
In any case, I find the whole argument silly. I play a pile of AAA games every year, and ED is easily among the least shallow ones. Which means nothing, as I enjoy the 'shallow' ones just fine. The whole 'ED so shallow' is just a bunch of Nerd-Karen whining. Go play your Deep Games, Einstein.
