Has Frontier acknowledged how much PZ crashes?

The crashing on start up is a pretty common issue it seems and has been for a long long time and with the latest update I'm getting even more (and I see it's common due to the amount of posts I see on Reddit and the steam forum about it). I understand it will be hard, with the pandemic, to address all the issues that might crop up when new content is released but this is an ongoing problem and I send crash reports etc etc etc But what I haven't seen over all these months is anyone from Frontier say: Hi, yes - we know this is happening and we're trying to fix it.

What's going on over in Cambridge, y'all?

Most of the crashes I've seen are caused by the underwater feeder, so if you haven't removed those I'd recommend doing so

I have seen just one crash since the update.
Rarely see them. Perhaps they're not as common as you may think.

But let's pretend Frontier has "acknowledged" them.
There you go, you can set your mind at rest now.

Most crash issues at start I have seen on reddit were caused by undeleted mods that were no longer conpatible with 1.6 update.
Of couse, that does not mean it does not happen without mods and not sure if you were using any? Just making sure we can write that option out.

I just went to go check the zoo I was working on - likely put an underwater feeder in as I've just started building a place for all the aquatic animals...Then the game crashed on start up. Lulz

Classic ol' "Well I haven't experienced any problems" just like the Cyberpunk 2077 fans XD
Every time I go onto reddit or the Steam forum I see a thread about it. My experience of crashes is also relevant as the game crashes about 40% of the time (nearly all crashes happening when the game first starts up)

Hi FoxyDee,
Hope you're doing good. Nah I haven't touched mods. No file altering mods, no animals - nothing.

Now we've got all that out the way, I was more focused on Frontier in this discussion and if they're actively working on fixing this as they've now released multiple DLC packs with the same crashes happening, over debating whether the crashes are actually happening.

EDIT: Just checked the Steam forum again. There's a post about the crashes on nearly every page.

Sorry TheDeadYoshi, if you felt like I personally was gaslighting you, it certainly was not my intention. Just wanted to make sure you dont have any mods installed, as its a common problem with them.

I dont know if they are actively looking into the issue, but most of the update notes end with "various crash and performence issues fixes". Might be just a phrase, or perhaps they really look into it, who knows. The best bet would be sharing your PC specs to Frontier, so they can narrow it down on what kind of hardware it is happening.

Nah you're all good FoxyDee, I understood your post and that you're being helpful and I'm really not that pressed about anyone else anyway, more amused really that some people act like there aren't any issues.

I contributed to a report on the issue tracker and hopefully that can get enough momentum to catch Frontier's attention.

Every update supposedly fixes some crashing issues, so at least Frontier must be aware that people continue to experience this issue. I personally haven't, but I wonder if it's because I don't have any long-term projects on the go (I tend to start a new zoo with every update), whereas a lot of other players will go back to a zoo they've been working on for months to add the new content in. I don't know what could technically be going wrong of course, but it's a theory. In any event, hopefully Frontier will look at it soon.

I really like the animals and most of the pack. I have a hard time letting go of my 2000 hours continuous franchise to sandbox zoo. It is a large zoo very detailed in some locations. Anyway, all of my last 2 months of save files will crash after attempting to launch for 4 minutes. Anyway, I am thinking toward restarting over with only my stuff. (that is the hardest thing because some lots of stuffs on the workshop are just brilliant/beautiful...) No rants, just thoughts and notes about my own experience.

Why do you think people "act like there aren't any issues"?
Just because they don't get as many crashes as you, doesn't mean they don't think there aren't any issues.

You must remember, steam forums + these forums are not representative of the player base. Plus, let's count up how many threads are NOT about crashes - it will dwarf those that are about crashes.

At the end of the day, your opening post (like many threads before) is basically saying this game is rubbish because it crashes a lot.
I remember when a patch was released in the early days and that DID make the game crash a lot. So much so, they released a patch within a day. YOUR crashes are likely to be a problem with your setup or something you've done in game or perhaps a corrupt save... hell even a corrupt graphics driver somewhere. Are your drivers up to date? Don't say yes to save face :censored: just go to the manufacturer website and check. Make sure nothing is running in the background (apart from Steam obviously) and make sure Windows is up to date.

There are issues with the game but I (and likely many others) rarely see them in the same way you do.
But like I say, let's follow the answer chart here > Frontier acknowledge crashes under certain circumstances that affects not many people > "The People" say "please fix them" > Frontier say "no" because they're not major. That's your answer. It won't be the one you like but it's the one you have.

If you see so many threads (on here or Reddit), you should try and find the common ground as to why these crashes take place.
There's very likely something that's causing it - and that's not counting all manner differences in systems and configurations of the game (IE, graphic quality for example).

It's TheDeadYoshi who is posting and it's TheDeadYoshi who is therefore having issues with the game crashing. A brief glance at the PZ subreddit (and I've seen it in other platforms) confirms there are also other people having similar issues, hence why it can be considered relatively common by the person who is posting.
No one suggested this game is rubbish nor that the crashing issues is a huge problem for many players.

It takes no effort to put yourself on someone else's shoes and understand why this thread started. It doesn't cost you money to show some sympathy either.
This person simply wants to play with no crashes and therefore asks for help or an official response. I wonder where else would you suggest this person to share their frustration because they can't play the game properly. What's wrong with posting your (and some other people's) in-game issues in the forum? Seriously....

I often have the game crash on start up. And occasionally at other times as well. Thankfully, the mid-game crashes have decreased a lot for me personally (fingers crossed that saying that out loud doesn't increase them again), but the start up ones still happen quite often. Sometimes daily, and sometimes 3-4 days a week.

I always try to send the on-screen report thing, and trust that those go somewhere useful. I've always assumed that the "various bugs and fixes" includes working toward this, but understand that finding all of them is probably like finding a ton of needles in a ton of haystacks.

Usually the start up crash that I get will happen once, and then it will let me in. A few times it has made me restart 2 or 3 times, but usually lets me in after that. I thankfully haven't had it where I can't get in at all. (Although I know that there may be others for whom that's been the case).

I've tried all various suggestions that I've seen made (verifying files, updating, restarting, checking connections, etc.), but since I'm not a computer genius and don't live with one, and since it's mostly happening for me at the beginning of a play session instead of in the middle so I'm not losing things, I've mostly just sort of accepted it as part of my log in/load in time each day. (While still sending the report, of course, in case it helps the devs identify the problem).

At any rate, just wanted to say that it's a real thing for me as well, and not connected to negativity about the game itself. I just don't think to mention it very often because it's become a part of my routine.
