Sorry Yamiks and all naysayers, but Odyssey is BETTER than Horizons

Now that bugs have been fixed

You mean this one ?

Oh wait, no... that's still happening...
Remind me which ones?

He is a serial troller I think. According to the OP posting history, he recently said that Odyssey was a massive improvement over 1984 Elite. Which is true, I'll admit.

It was in another of his thread.

Unfortunately, after attracting the attention of a genuinely psychotic stalker for 8 years after criticising the game Shroud of the Avatar, I've become very well versed in all the ways people are crowd-sourcing from places like 4chan et all the best ways to disrupt forums; and toxic "positivity" is one of the main ways they do so. Because it often confuses or even gains the outright support of the developers or forum moderators, as they don't look at the pattern of provocation, only that each individual post appears to be supporting the thing that keeps them in work; As the old saying goes, it's impossible to get someone to understand something when their job depends on not understanding it.

Meanwhile by targetting people with genuine concerns, they are guaranteed to get a counter-reaction, because they're deliberately needling people who have reason to be upset already.

In the long run, it ends up toxifying the entire community and strangling the good will for the product, because those who might have loved it with improvements get driven out, the genuinely "positive" people become associated with toxic behaviour, and because not enough effort is put in to protecting genuine community members, faith in the moderators and developers collapses... but as long as the lunatics get the attention, that sweet sweet feeling of at least being noticed, they don't care what happens to anyone else, or even the product they claimed to be defending.

The best way to tackle it is for the decent people to actually support the critics and the counter voices; Variety and tolerance is the antidote to narcissism and selfish destruction, just as in real life protecting minorities and those who call for change leads to a better society for all in the long run. Unfortunately it's much harder to get people to understand that online, where they can much more easily dissasociate from consequences.

In other words, it is bait.

One other thing better in Odyssey is that thos ridicolous ship trails in supercruise are gone. You know the light effect of far away ships looking like shooting stars in Horizon. I think the more flat lightning of SC ships in Odyssey looks way better.

See, I found something positive about Odyssey. And of course the better mission board.

Now that bugs have been fixed, and even if everything is not perfect yet, I can say it with some confidence. Some stuff dosen't work, yep, SRV still lags, yep, but IU is actually better once that you've figured it out, the game has more to offer, and perf-wise, well, it will get better (it already had) but if you haven't upgraded you PC since Horizons in 2015 and you expect to play Odyssey 60FPS in 2021, I mean, wake up...
Haven't upgraded my PC for almost 10 years. Still enjoying the game!

Whats been fixed ? Have u actually played odyssey ? And performance wise my pc gives up on odyssey planets while it plays other better looking games at 4K.
