Good morning thread...
What's up, I needed only 1 coffee to catch up?
At least I'm in time for the patch today

It's all my fault, I'm afraid. I've really been slacking here.Good morning thread...

"You want what? Me, talking on a stream? About my code? While the code is lying around and could be done?"That odd obsession about doing the job you chose as opposed to talking about doing it.![]()

I mean, as a developer they could end this quickly."You want what? Me, talking on a stream? About my code? While the code is lying around and could be done?"

Brilliant!!!I mean, as a developer they could end this quickly.
Just have the stream and let it run while they are coding. I bet most people will tune out at minute 3, the rest at minute 5.
It would have been nice to actually have something to read from the Devs tho'. That was just a summary of the previous stuff Arf has said would be in patch 5.I like the format much better than a stream actually. It's easily referable, set in stone on the forum and no dev has to waste valuable time for talking instead of developing to soothe the community's need for something more spectacular than a post.
Q&A would be nice, but I'm certain at least Sally will provide that tirelessly again.
I'd watch it. At least the first 3-5 minutes.Brilliant!!!
"You want a live dev stream? OK, you'll ruddy well HAVE a live dev stream! Enjoy!"![]()
Planets and their surfaces in Odyssey are beautiful, but they are horrible for SRVs. The procedural rendering is awful. Driving the SRV at high speeds, there'll be rocks just poppoing up out of the ground right in its path. Then there are the invisible boulders that that crash the SRV just like any "visible" boulder. Worst of all is when at the end of a long SRV jump, a huge boulder pops up out of the ground at the exact spot ypu're about to land!If FDev are going to constantly bring hot fixes out and now a large patch and planets still arnt rendered, why not just scrap the game.
It's an Owlcat.'Zactly!
Also, it's really impressive how that cat manages to maintain perfect balance on top of that post!

The word "performance" exactly is contained once in these notes - that's going to be fun. A impressive list nevertheless. The Patch notes have landed ttfn - off for a read
What is a "stuph"?stuphs
To be fair, I think there are one or 2 running around toward Odyssey. And smear campaigns are not mentioned at all![]()
Too early to miss them. You forget all the threads popping up after the patch "Hmm, I have half a frame more, I think the patch is an improvement"Man, I'm going to miss all the "what's your FPS now?" and all the salt because patch 5 was not the miracle patch. I hope there is still some drama when I get back to the forum in the evening.
