Elite Dangerous Odyssey: Fix Implemented for 'Mauve Adder' Issues

I'm really sad to see a new update that was supposed to solve the biggest problems of this expansion, and which had been promised to us as the biggest and the last of this long list of bugs and performances which made the game unplayable. will never fix each update brings new problems we will never get out of it.

I cant play the game... cannot log into and if I do log in, I get a crush error when going supercruise. Not to mension that fps droped from 30 to 10 into settlements.

Check your shadows settings in config. It's split in two now - make sure they're both on Low.

Henoch from Germany: I was ingame when these Mauve Adders happened. Then the game would't let me in because "my client is too new". Just this second I could enter the game again. :) Hi Sally, thanks for being here for us!

That's us trying to close the snake door.
Too late!

I don't think they promised any real performance improvements for this update and it sound like that is the case.
If you want playable frame rates you'll have to wait until the Console release when they finish optimising it for hardware from 2013.
Until then enjoy all the other non-planet related features that Odyssey has like ... new ui's ? em ... , nope, I've got nothing. Enjoy Horizons.

I don't normally comment, but thought it worth saying this time… it's working. Love the improvements to making the HUD & menu text easier to read. Great work by you & the team Sally. Hang in there :)

The bigger thing for me is that with FidelityFX a small usage of SS looks much closer to native now. So I get almost 4k visuals for SS=.85 performance, which is in effect a 15% performance gain (or, I could keep the visuals as they were by dropping to SS=.75).

A problem I don't normally have is updates wiping my keybindings - but this update has done that.
I have a backup from just over a month ago, I copy that over the bindings files ( 3 & 4 ) and load game - still all my 'Custom' bindings are missing.

Thanks FDev - I'm really not sure I can bothered to spend the next hour trying to rebind all my keys again ( being left handed all the keys are pretty much wrong for me by default ).

I was going to check to see if settlements have playable frame rates yet but just standing in the hanger looking in any direction I can see my GPU is stilling at 100% usage with the temperature climbing. My frames are capped at 60 but it can't even reach that. ( actually GPU Usage is 98-100% even in the Main Menu! FPS at 54 )

What's the point of releasing 5 big updates with almost 1000 fixes if the biggest problem(performance) remains your lowest priority ?

I'm done with Odyssey - good bye.

Sorry to see you go at this point, Danteuk! If you do decide to come back then there'll be an o7 waiting!
We'll keep on keeping on in the background.

That usually means ED isn't picking up the controllers probably, you only get to see custom options if it detects all the included controllers.

THEY'RE BACK

Gosh darn it - huge apologies Commanders, leave it with me and I'll keep this thread open as the main hub for connection chat.
I'll be around just bear with me on the slightly slow response front. Huge o7
