Well the alternative was an Uhura fan dance, but I'm not doing those any more. That's how you properly mesmerise.

Never been in love? It is not always easy. When you don't feel anything, then it's over. But anquish you know....What is fascinating is the number of people that say that the game is terrible and frontier are incompetent and keep on hanging around here. It’s puzzling.
Dare I say masochists or people who actually enjoy being angry?
When they actually leave we get an open letter announcing why everybody lost a person of quality.
Ah also let’s not forget the army of know-it-all gamedevs with 10/10 hindsight vision. They never did that job yet they know everything about it… from game design to marketing. I guess those hang around to educate the lot.
Dang.Well the alternative was an Uhura fan dance, but I'm not doing those any more.
I’m a (rather foolish) day zero NMS, so to see how far the game has developed is quite impressive from the ropey launch day. I’ve found it’s entertaining enough if u stick to the ‘minecrafting in space’ and focus on exploring on foot and base building, neither of which I can do in Horizons, and stay out of the cockpit unless I really need to.Yeah, I think Elite is the closest I can get to being a nobody sole trader type in the big vast Milky Way without having to be bound to a dull storyline (the older I get the less interested I'm in those) trying to save the galaxy. X4 certainly shares some overlaps, and I still need to get my teeth into that a bit further to properly appreciate, but Elite still does look good despite its age and FDev's best efforts to the contrary.
NMS I can only play for an hour or so at a time, with big gaps inbetween sessions. The flight model is about the dullest of all the space games I tried so far - just handy to get from A to B no frills. But the latest update did make it very pleasing on the eye despite me not really liking the art style - it's a slick looking game now though, and I previously refunded it for running and looking like a limp dog. Elite otoh seem to move into a different direction from a great starting position, which is very frustrating to experience.
I think it makes sense that people who aren't happy with the game aren't playing it, but are on the forums instead. My question is: if the game is so great, why are you here instead of playing it?
Hello? Have you never manned a wall in M&B and stood like a rock in waves of foes falling by your mighty strokes?I’m a (rather foolish) day zero NMS, so to see how far the game has developed is quite impressive from the ropey launch day. Oddly enough, the only game in my library (console and desktop) that gives me the same gameplay vibes as Elite is Mount & Blade. Despite the wildly different settings, it’s got that same feeling of insignificance where I can just do my thing and let the game world move on it’s own as kingdoms rise and fall.
Would be boring without complaining about complaining threads, wouldn't it?Hey look people, it's yet another "complain about people complaining about the game" thread !
You know what, I think we need a thread to complain about people who complain about people who complain about the game. No really, it's mesmerizing !
I take your point good sir! My preference was always for the knightly ‘Swadian steamroller’, which is about as well balanced as Elite post-engineers...Hello? Have you never manned a wall in M&B and stood like a rock in waves of foes falling by your mighty strokes?

you clearly don't know what you're talking about.Spot on OP. And they hang around like Ghosts, telling people who like the game, like Odyssey that they don't know what they are talking about.
Luckily I have some discord servers i'm a member of where we can have proper discussion of the game.

I did work as a game designer (rough development and strategic errors led to the release of an unfinished product for a game series that was loved by its fans). What is fascinating is the number of people that say that the game is terrible and frontier are incompetent and keep on hanging around here.
