yep a switch would be wonderful it would make all happySeriously, I feel like I'm commuting home in winter when it's pitch black outside, and my stupid kids decide to turn on the light in the car because suddenly they need to read a book.

And the most interesting thing is, that SOMETIMES you meet someone random in the club, that seemed to be in the very same, same company it looks like![]()
Actually that's the funny bit. Generally, my comfort zone consists in pushing up a bit the gamma to play games a tad brighter than recommended. But here, ugh. If that's what Horizons was like, then no wonder my brain had blanked it out to spare me PTSD.increase gamma
What did you say ?
I think it came down to the equipment of the users. I have two friends with normal non HDR monitors, for them it's pitch black everywhere, the others with HDR capable ones were okay(ish)I didn't mind the cockpit being darker especially out in space while maneuvering between different planetary objects. Honestly, they should have just added some form of option to play with that setting so everyone can scale to their preference. This is one of those issues where both folks on each end of the argument have a point. Darker because it's space but lighter because of what we're used to from Horizon. Which in this case, a slider/option would have been ideal.
I just started Control so far i like the twin peaks vibe to itI had 104 games on my wishlist. Now significantly less. Some people buy shoes, i vent my frustration buying games
Looks at pile of shame

Waaaaahhhh! Oooh, Amy.... Alyx in VR.... a.m.a.z.i.n.g.... look forward to hearing about it - keep us updated...But hey, it has a good side.
Out of frustration I bought half the steam sale and finally got around to try Alyx...
Control is cool, it's the same universe as Quantum Break and Alan WakeI just started Control so far i like the twin peaks vibe to it
I have HDR myself but I leave it off because everything looks a bit too soft and a bit grainy in light. Maybe I'm not using the setting right but HDR off seems nicer for this game in general. I only use HDR for movies/shows.I think it came down to the equipment of the users. I really don't see your problem. I can't see the issue.Actually that's the funny bit. Generally, my comfort zone consists in pushing up a bit the gamma to play games a tad brighter than recommended. But here, ugh. If that's what Horizons was like, then no wonder my brain had blanked it out to spare me PTSD.
I always believe ingrained empirical thinking is a good vaccine against irrational thinking...And the most interesting thing is, that SOMETIMES you meet someone random in the club, that seemed to be in the very same,
theoretically not existing outside of your mind place, talking to you about things that no one else should be talking about, because you were hallucinating after all.
Of course there was always a possibility, that you both just had one-way filters and were talking about something totally else,
and your minds were swapping this stream to something fitting the fairy tale it was feeding you already.
I guess constant awareness of all this spoiled "the fun" for me and my mind stopped trying to push me deeper into abyss of madness.
It's not easy to become genuinely mad if you have hardcoded part of brain that constantly labels all incoming information : "assumption" "cherry picking" "unverifiable" eventually classifying any "supernatural" experience you may have as "(censored), your brain is tricking you again".
I did not no that i will look into that thanksControl is cool, it's the same universe as Quantum Break and Alan Wake![]()
Yes. I have heard THE VOICE what instantly made me check who was making the voiceover, and I almost fell off the chair when I confirmed my impression.Bought...![]()
I had to disable HDR in Windows and switch my monitor (TV) explicitly to on to have the right lightning. It looks like the engine puts out full spectrum PBR pictures and sends a wrong format header...I have HDR myself but I leave it on because everything looks a bit too soft and a bit grainy in light. Yes, because you're blind now. Thanks for not putting it in spoilers....
See ? People are complaining just for the sake of complaining !Yes, because you're blind now. Thanks for not putting it in spoilers....

Stop complaining about people complaining or i will start an open letter complaining about you complaining about others complaining.See ? People are complaining just for the sake of complaining !
That's what it is! Windows HDR is the equivalent of not wiping the front facing camera of your phone after putting your oily fingers all over it.I had to disable HDR in Windows and switch my monitor (TV) explicitly to on to have the right lightning. It looks like the engine puts out full spectrum PBR pictures and sends a wrong format header...
