Hmm, now tried one surface mission when playing on GFN and fps went from 30-35 down to 10! when moving. I did not change to graphics settings from Patch4, but if I do not find way how to set it new, I fear that ODS is almost unplayable with Patch 5 (on GFN servers). ...btw I play Cyberpunk on ultra settigns at GFN ... Using low graphic setting have almost no effect. it drops to 15 fps when moving in SRV for few seconds.

Nonetheless, the graphics settings will have changed - shadow options have changed and AMD sharpening added. Would be worth checking them out and finding best settings again. Best of luck commander.
 
Same for me, stuttering got worse for me, Update 5 but realised the AMD fidelity filter is on by default so have dropped supersampling from 1.25 to 0.85 myself. I can't see any graining, it looks fine but a performance improvement - to any greater or lesser degree - is inevitable if you drop supersampling by 30%.
the problem is not in the overall performance, but in the failures that appeared in update 5. if the graphics deteriorate, I will get + 5 - 10 fps, but this will not save me from failures (
 
It does not help! these drops at any setting in certain places! they only appeared in update 5
I checked that out and experienced drops when I switched the rendering to 60 Hz in the graphics setting. I switched it back to 45 and everything feels smooth again. I cannot imagine a reason for that, but it just helps on my GeForce 1070.

Another thing I tried: There are 2 new shadow options (spot and point light). I reduced both to medium and reduced supersampling to 85. When you switch AMD Fidelity on, it compensates the low rendering resolution and in my case it becomes much smoother. 60 FPS are possible again in full HD (1920x1080).

What does exist though - I think - is occassional freezes. Frame rate is running fine but the (FPS) game might stop for up to a second. This might be what @Jorg means by 'failures' ?

Yes, I unserstood. And I got this problem once, when I was in a settlement, but only, when I changed the FPS to 60 Hz. At 45 Hz I never experienced a single freeze. But this is my experience with Ody.

Maybe higher frame rates are a problem for the rendering and task queue? Maybe it is because of multi-core processing / threading? Dont know. Just guessing.

Using low settings in GFN means static 45fps and quickly drop to 15(20) when move. Using ultra results with 15-25 fps all the time. I will try contact Nvidia support on chat later today, but there clearly is some problem and ED playability on foot in settlement (surfaces) is not good right now. Sigh, on my gaming pc with old 1070ti is performance going up (up to patch4, will see tomorrow how patch5), but for GFN it goes exactly opposite way. In space have GFN stable 60 and Horizons are ok, so it’s ODS planets surfaces content (settlements especially) which is causing problems.

I will be highly graceful if there are some advices how to set graphic for GFN, I tried different things but nothing have worked for me so far (patch5).

I did not notice any changes in performance, fps looks the same everywhere as in Update 4. Maybe a small increase in planetary concourse.
AMD FidelityFX is a Thing! SS 0.85 + FidelityFX looks pretty much the same as SS 1.0 + Normal.

I think with these messages it would be wise to specify your video card.

Thanks again for many - and many meaningful - changes; Odyssey is moving in the right direction (although I would like to see more "fixing stuff" instead of "new features").

Is anyone finding Support missions now? The boards have been empty of them in every station I've visited so far.
Nope haven't seen any yet. This is a game breaker for me as I was focusing on these missions trying to get my 10 topographical surveys (not that I've found even 1 yet!?) . No point in me playing at present? Please Frontier, fix a.s.a.p.
