Why nobody thanks Frontier for the recent patch? For the 1st time they LISTENED TO US and made changes that we actually asked! So: THANK YOU FRONTIER

I really don’t like to beat a dead horse but as @hunvagy pointed out there were many more issues with UI than just the simple outfitting (which a dev even admitted in that thread):

But I hope I made my point already.

Thanking them for.....
  • patching a completely broken Early Access Alpha_nightlybuild into a "Stable Alpha" ?
  • remodeling a completely broken User Nightmare and at least try to transform it into an actual User Interface?
  • working on a Planet tech that's clearly deficient?
  • not even having really started serious work on the Alpha Renderer and bringing performance upto speed (pun) ?

Eh, nope... That's their job and none of this should have happened in the 1st place. If anything, they're seriously behind and late for the show.
They deserve to get a hard virtual slap for all of above.
They cheated, they lied through their teeth, they mislead and threw us all under the bus - just to smile into the Investor faces at the next financial conference.

A "Thank you" they'd deserve for :
  • full-blown Carrier concourses, a bridge and Vista Genomics onboard
  • implementing Planetary Mining with on-foot prospecting
  • delivering a fully functional and reliable DSS Heatmap for Signal Filters
  • presenting much more creative and furthermost dynamic content for Exploration and Salvage Gameplay
  • presenting multiple new SRV types
  • implementing personal Base construction in Deep Space for those that desire it
  • presenting new Ships such as a few variants of the Panther Clipper
  • presenting Ship Interiors, even if at the start serving only as a placeholder foundation for future Gameplay (and allowing for cosmetic "making home" of our Ships if desired)
  • fully implementing interactive NPCs, have our NPC Crews onboard (allow us to dress them up) and have these NPCs assist with all tasks we can engage in, even if that's just not being alone all the time anymore
  • finally (after years!) implementing Codex Rumors and fully accompany these with Galnet and Storyline as applicable
  • presenting partial Client/Server Networking upgrade for busy places or special locations (i.e. CGs) to significantly improve Instancing stability, quality and instance sizes
  • presenting a potent anti-cheat System, finally combating cheaters and relentless botters alike
  • presenting a credible and reliable C&P System in order to restore Open Play as a viable and desirable game mode
  • present cross-play and bring Consoles and PC together

One can easily see there's plenty of opportunity to get a well-deserved "Thank you".
Not seeing any of that, however.

Why are you so negative then? Resenting (or ask to leave if not enjoying it) people that doesnt have the same opinions, not feelings, towards the game its not the half full glass of joy that odyssey is, as you try to present it. I mean i Love the game, but what they've pulled with odyssey its everything that can be worse in gaming industry today.

  • hyping something that even in alpha wasnt great going - check
  • presenting vids that arent same with what game is actually release with - check ( in game footage and all that stuff)
  • taking peoples money, and then blocking the refunds even if the product is no match for the advertise - check
  • faulty and misleading communications with playerbase - check
  • after selling a full product, advertised like it was you feel that 4 updates of fixing stuff and then this huge update 5 FULL OF BUGFIXES is normal and " thank you" worth. They are the ones who should have added in the end : "we are sorry these fixes didnt make it in release version that we totally rushed out". And The list can go on, and will go on, given the last so called dev post.
I agree there are a lot of issues, don't get me wrong. But I enjoy the game despite them, simply waiting for it to improve.

Now:

  • hyping something that even in alpha wasnt great going - check / "hyping", well, did you expect them to say "hey, our product is cr..."? C'mon...
  • presenting vids that arent same with what game is actually release with - check ( in game footage and all that stuff) / this I agree, but there is only one example, the infamous snowy surface. The rest is there. I found it.
  • taking peoples money, and then blocking the refunds even if the product is no match for the advertise - check / so what? Do you think it is that easy to get your money back once you buy things? Do you think a company which has budgeted X pre-orders can simply reverse it? It's not the way it works in real life. Nobody forced you to pre-order, you took the risk, you can't complain afterwards. I don't say it's fair, I say it is the way it works.
  • faulty and misleading communications with playerbase - check / here I have no expertise, their communication is poor, yes, but "misleading" is another thing, a strong word, legally binding.
yes they could say there were mistakes, but legally speaking (again) formal excuses open the gate to legal proceedings, so you can't do it lightly (corporate world is not a fairytale) and actually it would have been naive in the first place to expect a game fully functional on day 1.

Yes, but most of it has been fixed, I can tell you, I tested it. But honestly, I'm tired of this, do your research and learn to use it or don't and keep complaining, I truly don't care.

No, not most of these things. Just a mere minority. There are still plenty of broken things in UI.

And I don’t know how many times do I have to repeat this - these fixes were for things that worked before but FDev decided to break in Odyssey.
And that does not deserve praise.

it is evident that this thread is pointless and only served to cause more upset for people genuinely experiencing a very poor level of gameplay, and denying that issues exist, and blaming other players for their experiences is poor behaviour. If any mods are following this thread I suggest it be closed as it serves no one any good

Ok you are right on this. But I did not praise, I said thanxx. I mean, they are working hard on it, people are complaining day in day out, don't you think sometimes we can also show some appreciation? Try to put yourself in their shoes. Do you think devs were the ones who decided of the launch date?

I thank the dev for their hard work for sure. CM to.

Not going to thanks anybody who take the decision up above.

Nobody ever denied issues exist. We all know there are numerous issues and poor design on many things, while haveing significant issues with perfs on many parts of the game. You will have to copy and past to refesh our (at least my) memory regarding someone denying this. Some people simply try to balance the good and the bad, while other simply deny there is any good. Might be pointless, but there is nothing more.

I can live with those terms, yep...

... but that was exactly what my post was about. Did you see any mention of "management" or " Braben"?...

As a paying customer I don’t really care who‘s fault or decision it was. Not my problem.
And you literally said in your very first post that they deserve the praise.

People are complaining day in day out and they do so deservingly.
You either must be the luckiest person in the world (to not experience all the bugs and issues) or you play Odyssey in a very VERY limited manner to not to see them.

No Frontier as a company did and as in your thread title thats who you are asking us to thank.
Hey, you are right actually, I did! Thank you for pointing out the important, I mean, the crucial stuff!

I have the feeling some people here pretend not to understand the very simple point that I'm trying to make.. or maybe they really don't understand, which is a far more disturbing thought.... In any case, I'm tired of this. Walk safe CMDRs (as I've understood that the walking part is the issue at stake here)
